I can't believe it. Captain Kangaroo has died. I love him when I was growing up. I can still remember the ping pong balls falling on his head. That was something that happened with Mr. Moose wasn't it? One memory I have is that when President Kennedy died they took the Captain off the air to show the funeral. That made me so mad! Now, you must remember I was only like 3 years old. People these days can talk all they want about Mr. Rogers, but in my mind no one, not even Mr. Rogers could hold a candle to the Captain!

I am so pleased to see that I am not the only one who's written a journal entry about Captain Kangaroo's death! I loved him! Unfortunately, I am not an AOL member so I can't write my own AOL journal, so I write on Oprah's journals, where I can choose to keep it private or share my entries online. I love your journals and I am so happy to have happened upon them. Keep up the good work!
Well I'm sad to say, I never really was familiar with him. THough of course, I've heard the name before.
