nameless kitty

Thanks for all the name suggestions!  I see two or three that I like.  Keep them coming!

Went to see kitty today (twice!).  She seems to be doing ok.  Dr B was worried about her not eatting yesterday, so he gave her fluids, and some nose drops.  After the nose drops I guess she could smell a little more and has been eatting a little.  Dr B wants to keep her a few more days to make sure she is eatting ok, and ideally I think he wants her to put on a little weight before I bring her home.  We are shooting for this weekend, but we will have to see.

Yesterday I took her a stuffed dog (I know, but it was the only really soft cuddly thing I could find) and she has been snuggling up to him some.  And when I visit she is all over me.  I hate to leave her.  Can't wait to get her home.

Now, the problem is will my older cat Dallas like me bringing in another cat?  Especially a kitten.  Anyone have any ideas on how to introduce them and get them to like each other?  I am praying that I can bring kitty in, and Dallas just fall in love at first sight and we all live happily ever after.  Yea, I do tend to live in a dream world.

here are my suggestions .. first be sure they are both spayed .. it really will reduce the chances of fights .. 2nd wash the kitten before she comes home .. rub a towel over Dallas, rub a separate towel on the kitten .. rub the kitten with the towel you used on Dallas, rub Dallas with the towel you used on the kitten (transfering odors) be sure they each have their own litterbox and food bowls (kept far apart) also don't scold when they hiss at first :) pamela

thanks pam! what a great idea! And yes, Dallas has been fixed, and as soon as kitty is old enough she will be too!

I think Pam's ideas are great! Unfortunately, I can't think of anything she hasn't mentioned. I sure hope you get to bring kitty (aka ???Phantom???--lol) home this weekend. I know it must be hard for you to leave her...it would be for me. Good luck!

I'm loving this! Stories about homeless kitties who luck out by finding loving owners (like you) are just the best. They put a happy lump in my throat.

Pams suggestions are excellent. To them, I would add that you limit Dallas and the new kitten's time together at first and carefully monitor them. Don't be surprised if Dallas only tolerates the new kitty, though. Meanwhile, I'll hope for the best.

You sweet girl!
