homeless no more

John G you are so very right.  I know what I must do.  What I can't help myself from doing.  I am going to keep the kitty I found yesterday.  Or at the very least give it all I have to make it work.

I went back to the vet to visit poor kitty.  Couldn't hardly stand it.  She is so adorable!  I thought I would bring her home after they give the little stinker a bath, but she isn't eating unless she is "force" fed with a syringe.  I am wondering if she is as old as Dr. F said, either that or she wasn't weaned properly.  So, I get Dr. B (the best as far as I am concerned) to start looking after kitty (he and Dr F is in the same practice, but frankly I never have liked Dr F) and he is going to start giving her some fluids via IV's because he thinks she is too dehydrated.

So I will leave kitty at the vet until she starts to eat and maybe gains a little weight. (love the kitty but I see $$$)

The receptionist nicknamed kitty "snotty" because, well, kitty had it all over her face in her ears, on her tail....But I can't live with that name.  Sorry, no can do.  Therefore I am looking for a name.  Help me!!  Kitty appears to be solid black (hard to tell for sure until the bath), long hair, female, and the lovingist (is that a word?) thing you ever saw.  I should say that I am not much for the cutey animal names (tiger, fluffy, snowball, etc..) Anyone have any ideas?   I will make a donation to the local Humane Society in your honor if I pick your name!

I once knew a solid black cat with amazing amber eyes. Beautiful. Her name was Onyx.

personally, i'd name her something to remind you of when you found her .. like "Monday" .. or perhaps the name of the street you found her on .. or "freeway" if thats where you found her .. another suggestion, when you get the final bill from the vet .. name her the dollar amount on the bill .. knowing my cats at the vet .. you'd be calling her "five hundred" :)

How about Phantom? That's probably what she'd be, had you not saved her! I think that's such a cute name for a cat...with their sly ways...it totally fits. lol

Thank you for having such a warm heart!

Everybody's come up with such good kitty names!

I usually wait a few days or so before I name a kitty -- I like to get a feel for his or her personality and go from there. That's how I arrived at my male cat's name (Fergus) and she-cat's name (Ginny). And it's how Ken chose his kitty's names (Buddy and Max). Funny thing is, we don't call them by their names, but by their "pet" names of Pookie and Doodle.

Hee, hee.
