Saw my medical doctor today.
Blood pressure is really good! WOO HOO Finally!
And yup, it sounds like I could be allergic to my kitties. Instead of a perscription he wants me to try some OTC stuff. Tomorrow I'm off to buy some Clairton (is that spelled right?)
Dr G listened to my heart and lungs. Everything sounded good. Looked up my nose and he could see all the congestion I was telling him about. Looked at my throat. And....Uh oh....
Uh oh? I don't like uh oh's. Don't like them at all..........
Dr G: Your tonsils are huge! You been having a lot of sore throats? Me: No
I've NEVER seen tonsils this big before! ::oh no--i don't want to hear this::
They are HUGE they are almost touching. ::i really don't want to hear this::
I want to send you to an ears/nose/throat doctor. ::i am not hearing this::
What if I do nothing? Could it come from allergies? Could be coming from an allergy. If after taking allergy meds don't change anything.............tonsils that BIG could have serious side effects........high blood pressure, diabeties........sleep apenia (which could cause snoring ::like I care:: waking up several times a night ::already do that:: and stroke. ::stroke? did he just say stroke?:: I can go see the ears/nose/throat person.
Ears/nose/throat doctor may not agree with me. She may say that I am full of it, but I think it's best to get it checked out. ::you just said STROKE, yeah I think it's good to get it checked out:: Ok, do you make the appointment or do I? We will make the appointment and get back with you. Is it true that it hurts adults worse than kids -- having your tonsils out? I don't know if it's true or not.
And how was your day? ::laughing::
I can be a HUGE baby. Maybe even a huge as my tonsils apparently are..............

there are some hearbal things that are helpful with allergies and I wonder too if its not from allergies. I would not take them ot too fast. drs are all to ready tojerk things out of us
Oh dear. I remember having mine out at 10- had a quite sore throat for a couple of days. Don't know if it's orse for adults, but tonsils can cause eal problems with infections that can spread, too. You'll be fine-I,m sure it is just your allergies. Margo

He said stroke? I don't believe him. LOL! I think he was scaring you to go to the nose and throat guy. But you should go. They don't usually take tonsils out unless they are bad. My son-in-law has tonsils and one is GIGANTIC. Doctor never said, have it out. So go for the checkup and relax. : )
Claritin is how you spell it. I don't take it because it makes me tired. But I have crazy reactions to medications that other people don't. My grandson takes it and doesn't bother him at all.
I've never heard anything like that about tonsils. Have you checked webMD.com? Is it possible you're having a reaction to the new meds? Keep us posted.
