Stingray Kills 'Crocodile Hunter'
Steve Irwin Dies While Filming in Australia
First thing I heard when I turned on the tv this morning was about Steve Irwin's death. (click the pic above for AOL news on this). What a shock.
A shock that he was dead, and double the shock when I heard it was from a stingray. I have never heard of a stingray killing anyone. I don't mean to sound flip, but I figured if killed by an animal Steve would be eaten by a crocodile. He always was dangerously close to those things!
Irwin was not my favorite "animal dude" (love that Jeff Corwin guy) but it is so very sad to hear that he has died. He leaves behind a wife and 2 small children. Also I believe he owned (?) the zoo there in Australia. I imagine that the entire country of Australia thought highly of the man that brought their country into the world's eye.
Has everyone seen at least one of Steve's shows on tv? Seems like he was everywhere. Irwin seemed to love animals, but also seemed to push that boundary with them.
Pray for his family as this be a very difficult time for them.

I wasn't really a fan but I felt terrible. He's so young and had a nice family. I feel like you do.

Hi Kathy. I really really liked Steve Irwin ~ he was huge over here. I was very sad this morning when I turned the TV on. I'm praying for his family. Apparently according to the news over here only one other man has been killed by a stingray in the water's where Steve was and that was in 1943. He was very unlucky ~ it's very sad. Hope you're ok mate.
big hugs Debbie ~xxxxx~

Hi, I did an entry this morning about him. He was one enthusiastic (for want of a better word) fella and very passionate about what he did. Such a shame and a complete freak occurence in the way he died.

I did enjoy his shows and movie. This is sad. His excitement over the proper treatment of animals was always evident. Regards, Bill.
Yes, you are right..... a VERY BIG loss!!! He was a wonderful teacher and we will miss him very much!! He was such a fun guy, ya know, he knew how to make it all interesting for kids, adults, and even teens (who all live in their own world, and usually can't be bothered). My prayers go out to his wife and children.

So sad! I'm sure God & St. Fransis have him in a special place now. I feel for his wife & kids. He has given so much. Wonder if he has a website that people can leave comments on.
