old brother, and neighbor Jim

Yesterday was by brother's  (er...older brother) birthday.  Yeap.  My folks are now the proud parents of a 50 year old son.  LOL  That has bound to make the parents feel old.  LOL  I won't be that old for another......hey, that's none of your business!

My neighbor Jim is doing pretty good.  C had him out of the house (in a wheel chair) in their front yard so he could get some air and visit with the doggies.  I am so very proud of Jim.  He is in such a better mind-set than I would be.  I guess coming so close to death will do it to you.  I made a remark about the drunk driver that hit him and all Jim had to say was "I hope he learned something from this".  Huh?  I'm all like he should be put under the jail and throw away the key, but Jim is just hoping the guy learned a lesson? And with all that metal attached to his leg, wrist in a cast and all banged up bruised Jim also said: If this (right here and now) is as good as will get, then that's ok.  I'm like Jim you are going to get better but it will take a long time......and he is "yeah I know, but if it weren't going to get any better I would be ok with this."

Knock me over with a feather!  I can't believe Jim's attitude about being hit by a drunk driver and almost dying.  Maybe I would feel the same way if it was me?  I don't know.  I guess it's something you have to go through, but I am still pretty PO'd at the drunk driver that hit him!

I have tons of links that I am going to try to post in another entry later tonight.  Not promising but keep your fingers crossed!

I don't know if I could be as rational as Jim is being.  I think I would want that drunk driver buried under the jail.

Jim has a great attitude!  He'll probably heal more quickly because of it.

Jim's on the best road to recovery...he's left anger over to the side. I'll bet that helps him a lot more!

Happy birthday to your brother! Yayyy, someone older than me!

Wow, he has a wonderful attitude. I have a friend that lost her little boy because a drunk driver hit him on his bike on Christmas Eve. I'll never forget that.

It took me a long time to get to where Jim is after my brush with death and serious arm and hand injury, but I got there eventually. Jim is a good and courageous man. I hope you can get to know him some. Happy B'day to your brother! They say that 50 is just the beginning ofmiddle aged these days. I don't know if I want to live to  be 100. Margo

There are plenty of people that are angry enough for both Jim and them....driving under any influence has got to be one of my biggest pet peeves....
I love his attitude tho...I wish I was grown up enough to have that sort of thinking!
Next time you see him tell him alot of peeps are pulling for him making a full recovery!
take care

I guess it's better for him not to carry around all the anger....but I'd have to have a long time to be like that.
