I am in a major fowl mood, but I'm here.
Come to find out a lot of my being tired/fatigue was coming from the sleeping pills Dr Shrink gave me. Oh I slept at night with them, but I could hardly set up during the day. So Dr Shrink changed me to another brand. Last night was first night on them. Didn't sleep really well but I thought it could be coming from nerves over having to see the ENT doctor today. I'll give the new sleeping pills another night or two.
So I get up this morning and my HUGE tonsil's and I go to the ENT doctor. Appointment was at 9:30 AM but as usual for me I get there a little early. I don't get called into the back unto 10:00 AM. Not a good start. In the back I am kept waiting until 10:25 before the doctor walks in. (oh yes the times are right, me and my Marvin the Martin watch kept in close contact!) Dr ENT looks at my tonsil's, yup, they are HUGE, looks up my nose......she (yeah a lady doctor) then says she is going to put this cottony stuff soaked in something up both sides my nose. I am not thrilled. But I allow this to happen. She then LEAVES THE ROOM. Wasn't in there 5 minutes with me. I am looking at my watch trying to decide at what time I will walk out. 5 til. That's it I am going to walk out at 5 til 11 if she isn't back. Dr ENT cuts it sooooooo close and she walzes in at 10:56 AM.
Now the rest of the exam. Looks up my nose again, got a deviated septum, little something or another up over there. Anoids fine.
Dr ENT do you want us to do some blood work to make sure you are allegric to your cat, or dust, or blah blah blah.........Me: you can tell with blood work? Sure.
Ok........When is Dr ENT going to mention my tonsils again?...............I FINALLY say well what about my tonsils? Do you snore? Yes, my mom has told me that. How bad? Huh? Well why don't you go to your mom's house and take a nap and have her listen and let us know how bad it is. If it's like a cat purr then no problem if it's really loud then we might need to take out your tonsils.
WHAT IN (INSERT CURSE WORD/S OF YOUR CHOICE) KIND OF DIANOSIS IS THAT? WHERE THE (CURSE WORDS HERE) DID YOU GO TO COLLEGE WOMAN?
So in about 10 days DR I DON'T HAVE A CLUE will call me and tell me about the blood work and if I tell her I snore like a freight train I guess she will want to operate. BUT I DON'T THINK SO I'm not going back to her. Never, no way, no how.
I called my medical doctor (the one that sent me to Dr wonderful) but I really didn't want to do the phone tag thing so I made up an excuse to get an appointment to see him. I can't get in for another 2 1/2 weeks but I made the appointment while I sit here and decide on what I want to do. I could see one of Med Dr's associates and try to work out another ENT to try -- but somehow that doesn't feel quite right. It's like I'm going behind his back or something. Or I could call and leave a message for him to call me and sit back until his nurse calls finds out what I want, then chase him down to see what he thinks and calls me back with a message that he will call me sometime?........
So I still feel rundown and sleepy. Whatever Dr ENT put up my nose has gotten it to hurting now. And I don't really know much of anything. Well, I do think I used the wrong "fowl" up top. How should I spell it? Oh, who cares.............
I miss everyone of you guys. I just haven't been on line. I prefer the couch these days.
****oh, in case you are wondering I called mom and she said the last time I fell asleep on her couch I did indeed sound like freight train running through her living room. See that's the best part about cats --- they won't tell you if you snore or not. They let you believe you lay sleeping like a beautiful (and quite) princess..........(or is that why Maggie wakes me at all hours to be fed? she's trying to get even at not getting a good night's cat nap in? LOL)

foul was what you were looking for.
I am on Nitrazepam - they do leave me tired but I do sleep with them.
Oh Kathy ... so sorry you're feeling so foul. It might be better to feel like a fowl. Okay, you aren't in the mood for sick funnies. I get it.
Just feel better and know that I'm thinking of you. :)
Gotta watch those sleeping pills. I have some and they do make mornings rougher than they are already.

So sorry to hear you're having a bad time. Will certainly keep you in my thoughts & send good vibes your way.
Guess you read about my biopsy...uterine cancer possibility. Will know for sure Wed. Doesn't look good.
Have a nice weekend my friend.
Hugs, Sugar
I have such a majorly low opinion of the healthcare system. I snore like a freight train too. Good to have you back, Buddy! You'll get through this.

Been there with the tonsil thing. You are right to see another Doc. But, if you go the route of having your tonsils taken out TRUST ME do your homework and just know that this surgery for an adult is MAJOR. I had this done what I was 50 and it was HORRIBLE. I don't regret having it done but it was one hell of a recovery. Just be prepared and you'll be OK.
Hugs my friend

typical doctors for gods sake,id ask my doctor to get me someone else to treat me,i bet your nose is sore hun, rest up and consider having your tonsils out over a massive tub of hagan das,all the best zoe xx

Sounds more like symptoms of a sleep disorder that needs to be evaluated by a sleep disorder clinic. Worked wonders for me with no pills. Not sure you have gone that route. Hope you feel better soon.

It seems to me your doctor is your employee-if you have real issues with him or her(and I'd have issues with that kind of treatment, too)then you have every right to ask your PMD for a different referral, because you want a "second opinion." Margo
wellll alrighty then...I think we could just share a couch and cut the sime spent in sequestered depression in half, but I imagine there'd be a catfight over the remote.
I agree with the 2nd opinion oponions. You might consider seeing a pulmonologist. Sleep disorders-slash-snoring&allergies are a big part of what they handle. Also the pollen this year in the southeast is gonna be a real bitch because we didn't have a hard freexe for a good ammount of time. It all adds up to misery.
What I remember of having your tonsils out as an adult was(IMHO)very uncomfortable, so anything less invasive first!
Glad we're back. ;)
Love,
Andi The Invisible
sime...time...whatever!
