Another day in the life of me........

When you think of the last of December you think of the type of weather that is in the above graphic.  But in this part of the world we are running around in our shirt sleeves still.

Huge moving van just pulled in next door.  I guess I'm getting new neighbors.  Oh heck, there is 2 little boys running around out there.  Don't throw things at me!  I like kids, as long as they live in the next block or the next street over.  Call me names but just don't throw stuff at me.  Kids get on my nerves something bad -- always have.  Good thing I never had any huh?  I love YOUR kids, you take them home and keep them away from that "strange cat lady that lives down AOL J-land lane.  LOL

Got a couple new entires over at: Forever Forward  I think you will like the last entry.  Copy and mail it to everyone you know.  LOL  No, DON'T DO IT!!!!  I'm just messing with ya.  But it is a good one.

Today I have been really down.  No real reason.  Oh I could come up with about a million reasons but they are the same old ones that crop up when I get depressed.  The list is old and raggedy and you don't want to hear it any more than I want to spew it out.

Saddam is dead.  When I first saw it this morning (on my trusty computer not on tv) I really didn't have much of a response.  That's why I shoved you guys off on Andi's entry.  I wasn't sure what I wanted to say or if I wanted to say.

I have gotten an ear full in one of my groups about how bad America is because of executions.  But this is coming from a country with a very bloody past, who are they to judge?  Not all US states execute.  Would I be apposed to executing say The Green River Killer?  Nope.  Ted Bundy?  No problem there.  Those were evil men.  Yes I believe that some people are just born mean and that something in their lives as kids happens and where most people would grow up ok, they instead turn out evil.  As a Christian maybe I shouldn't say that, but I do believe it.

Saddam was an evil man.  Should he have ever been let loose in society?  No.  Should the Iraqis pay to keep him in prison for the rest of his natural life?  I don't think so.  He killed so many of his own countrymen, innocent people.

As for the death pentalty.  If you don't believe in it then don't live in Texas for heavens sake.  Maybe Massachusetts? They don't have the death pentalty do they?  Yes, I think serial killers and the like should get the death pentalty.  Did Saddam get what he deserved?  Well he got what he brought onto himself, I'll say that.

Please no hate comments or emails.  I see comments around that can get very heated on politics, religion, and of course the death pentalty.  If you have a strong opinion on the subject then address it in your journal and I promise I won't leave any ugly comments at your journal.

Finally got the DVD player/recorder working!  WOO HOO  Dad had one of the millions of connecting wires in the wrong place.  Now I am ready to sit back watch a few movies, and try the recording feature!  I am excited about that.  Got me a new toy to play with.

Here's a site for you to check out.  Dead People - People who died in 2006  It lists famous people but it also the names (and pictures) of our fallen military men and women.

Weird entry I know.  Sorry.  Check out the Forever Forward journal and the People who died in 2006 site.

this looks like a Morvian star, is it?  do you know?

see I do use tags!  I don't like the looks of them in most entries so I have the text in white so you can't see it, but they are there:

Go & do some good things for others that will make you feel better. Like send some e-cards for the New Year to people. I just did that & it warmed my heart. You can always go to Bath & Body...they have a great sale & then you can pamper yourself! :-)

Got the end of the year blues. Lots of people do.
Me, not bad today. But I do hate New Year's Eve. It's so overrated. It's just another day. I hate the drunk drivers. Now, drunk drivers should be hung but not by their necks.

Happy new year, Cathy

Execution is such a touchy subject for some, but people like Saddam deserve the death penalty.  He actually got an easy way out.  His people should have been able to stone him to death for all the horrible things he did.  Have a good one.

Personally, I do agree with the death penalty. Ok...so shoot me....but I DO!  I think he got what he deserved.  He killed innocent people and was just plain ol' evil.  How is it that so many rotten people get into positions of power?
Glad you got the DVD player working. OK...now come and teach me how to use mine. ok?
Have a good Sunday.

Do you usually get depressed during the Winter months?  I have a friend who will not answer her phone until April because her seasonal depression is so severe.  I get some of that too -- but this year mine is a bit more like a mania.

Saddam was an SOB, but was never the most evil tyrant on the block.  Just a convenient one.  I'm a liberal Democrat -- so take my opinions for what they're worth to you.

Feel better, Kath.

Hug,
Russ
