First let me say I am so sorry that someone died. But when I saw this news video I had to ask myself why would anyone agree to surgery in the basement of a house?
All I can say is that she must have been desperate, but surely not that desperate! Why do these people think that they can be diy sugeons? If only it was that simple........if it was I would have had it done ages ago!!
I couldn't believe it! It is hard to understand things people oftentimes do; things like that; they make no sense. Hugs Barb- http://journals.aol.com/barbpinion/HEYLETSTALK http://journals.aol.com/barbpinion/HOPEFORTODAY
It's such a complex issue, we could talk about it for hours (or days). Sadly, this young woman lost her life while hoping to look better. And for who or what, we might ask.
Geez, whatever made them think they could do this sort of medical procedure? Apparently, the dead woman, isn't the only one they did this procedure on. Insane! This world has become so "surface" that everyone is working so hard to look good on the outside that they are forgetting about the inner person. Very sad that she died and even more sad that she didn't love herself enough just the way she was.
Some times I wonder what society has turned young girls into.... to agree to such a thing, all for the sake of vanity, because so much emphasis is placed on appearance. I'm just about to get on my soapbox, so I'll back off now.... I'd "lol" if it weren't such a serious issue. ~Meg
Kath, this is called desparation. By this point you most likely don't care if you're in the basment of Dracula's place - it's a story that merits compassion which I know you have. CATHY http://journals.aol.com/luddie343/DARETOTHINK/

I saw this story and wanted so badly to believe it was a hoax. I think this kind of thing happens for a combination of reasons:
1. We, as a nation, are getting obese.
2. All the images of human perfection in the media are pencil thin.
3. We're also lazy and addicted to the quick fix for problems.
4. Lipo in a safe place is expensive.
5. Some people make very bad decisions.
yes I heard this story. How very sad.
I watched the clip and that is sooo terrible and I think me and you are on the same page.
