I just want to start by
thanking everyone for the
well wishes. I am sure
that everything is ok.
It's just better
to have things
checked out.
Friday night in the ER after
the nurses did all their stuff in
walks Dr. Yummy....Oops, wait.....that
wasn't his name. Nope, it was
Dr Hottie! Oh, no.....that
wasn't it either.......
Whatever his name was
he should not be allowed
to come into a woman's
room that might be
having a heart
attack! Cause
seeing him could have
given me one! LOL And he
was soooo young!. I never get a
regular doctor that looks that
good!
And then on Saturday
before I was discharged
Dr Hottie's close cousin
came in to see me and
to make sure I get
an appointment with
the cardiologist.
While cousin Hottie
was talking to me he kept
looking at the heart monitor screen.
He told me everything was ok, to calm
down. Seems as my heart had
started racing just a bit!
How embrassing. LOL
My cat's gave me the
cold shoulder most
of yesterday. I
guess they missed
me friday night.
Oh they weren't starving,
I put dry food down before
I went to the ER, and my dad came
over Saturday morning and put some
can food down for them.
I am not much on
Halloween so instead of
giving out candy tomorrow
night I will be in the
dark watching some
kind of horror movie.
Maybe something by
Stephen King.
I am so sorry that I haven't gotten
around to everyone's journal or
leaving comments at the ones I
have been stopping by. I will
try to do better.
I need to get caught up
on my emails and stuff
but I will be around.
Take care. Be careful
if you are out and
about tomorrow night.
This time change has me all messed up.

Not feeling so great
Yesterday evening I started feeling like I was having a panic attack, but it felt different somehow. So I called my dad to take me to the ER. I spent the night there while they ran tests. Good news is that I didn't have a heart attack and there are no blood clots. Because I was starting to feel some better this morning the Doctor said I could come home but would have to be in his office in the next week or two for a stress test. Chances are good that I am just having alot of bad back-to-back panic attacks, but he thinks it is best to go ahead and rule out any beginnings of any type of heart disease. (there is a ton of heart problems in my parent's families.
I feel better but still lousy. Then I opened some of my other email accounts to find over 1000 emails in one and 600 in the other. Totally forgot that I had signed up for something called "tag wars" for the weekend. Have never seen so much mail in my life! I guess I will get it cleaned out sometime. I have already missed tag deadlines -- but do I care? Heck no.
Talk to you guys laters.
Don't forget to change your clocks tonight! Go back an hour!!!! Yeah, an extra hour of sleep.

Evil Zombie Snowmen
Hello. Can you believe
that October is almost
over? That time changes
this weekend?
I took both the kitties to the
vet today. They needed nail
trims, and I wanted to get
them weighed. Little miss
Sophie is a whopping 6.7
pounds! Dr B says she will grow
into a big cat. I said as in fat?
Nope, just an overall big cat. About
10 pounds. He says she will
grow into her paws! LOL
Sadie on the other hand,
just weighed 4.3 pounds.
Sadie has never weighed more
than about 5.5 pounds. She is
doing ok with her health,
she just can't keep weight on.
I feel so bad for her. Dr B
said that she has good
muscle town and seems
to be doing ok. We don't
want her to loose too much
weight, but for now she is
ok.
I had a major panic
attack last night. If
you have never had one
let me tell you, you feel like
you are going to die.
I have went to the ER before
because I just knew I was
having a heart attack. But last
night I convinced myself
that I was ok and not having
a heart attack. So no trip to
the ER. Of course if I ever have
a heart attack will I think it
is a panic attack? Hmmmm
Oh, in my "about me"
column I have also added
a link to my favorite comic strip
if you have never read Rose is
Rose then you need to pop
over there and give it a try.
I LOVE the cat Peekaboo!
That's all for now. Hope this
color of yellow looks ok on this
back. Let me know what you think.
Here are few other
colors to compair it to:
light yellow
dark yellow
white
black
orange
light green
red
See ya around J-land.

It's time!
Just a regular old background this time. This
one may be a little hard on the eyes though.
The main reason for today's entry is to make
sure you know that the voting has began! Yep,
voting for the VIVI - that's the unoffical
AOL J-land awards -- started today. Be sure
to go to the "offical" VIVI journal for the
link to vote. Go here ----->> Let the Voting
Begin. You can't vote for me (bummer) but
there are some great journals to vote for.
So if you haven't already hurry on over there
and vote!
Sorry if this background is too hard on the
eyes. Please feel free to comment on the
backgrounds I use, size of text and color of
text. I know it is my journal and I can use
anything I want, but since there are people
reading it I would like for it to be readable.
This is blank text, other colors I thought
looked pretty for this background are:
Pink Med shade of Green Purple
But are they readable?
That's it for today. I have tons of stuff to
do around the house. Tomorrow is trash and
recycle pick up day so I have to get them out.

What happened?
Anyone know how my "break through" background entry got in here twice? The extra one wasn't there before.......
Kathy
2 entries in 1 day?
This is so great. Being able
to use these backgrounds
that I found. Thanks again to
Joe for his help. And to Celeste
for all she did to try to help me.
I don't really "celebrate"
halloween -- getting too old --
but I love black cats so this time
of year is a great time to collect
graphics on the web. I love this
background.
My brother says that he is picking up
the wife and his youngest daughter
and moving out west somewhere.
I cannot believe that he is really gonna
do that. His wife has tried for years
to get him to move as far away as
possible from his family.
Well, I do feel bitter about this,
I won't pretend I feel any
different. It is their lives after
all.
My sister-in-law is mad at their
youngest. G was in a car accident
a couple years back and is now
getting a check as part of the
settlement. S-I-L wants G to
spend the money on her. She is really
mad that G won't give her the money.
I find it funny. Can you tell s-i-l and
I aren't the closest of friends? LOL
I shouldn't be like that. It is not very
Christian like. But I feel the way I feel.
The weather has turned off really chilly
today. I was beginning to think that
we were going to have summer (or
something close to it) for the rest
of the year! LOL Trees still
have leaves on them but they are
beginning to turn.
I have been having all sorts of computer
problems today. Somehow my Norton
security stuff turned itself off.
Took forever to get it back on.
And AOL, don't even get me started....
This morning I couldn't open any web
pages. This afternoon they would open. Well
sort of. They would open and the page
would be blank. Stayed blank.
I tried everything in the world to
fix it and finally decided to just
re-install AOL. Now everything
is working fine. But I did lose all the
mail I had saved and the mail I had
in my waiting to be sent folder (sorry
to those in my graphics group).
I guess 2 entries in one day is
enough. Got tons of things to get
done, both online and off.
Take care. Keep warm.
Kathy
Yeah! Joe I thinks I am in love!!!!!!
Ok, I got more help from our
very own Journal Editor Joe.
and it looks like it is going
to work!!!!!!
Wait I have to hit save to see
if it will work.
Ok, it looks like it will be working
there are a few little quirks
but it basically works the
way I want it to.
The right side of the page
shows up larger after I hit
save than it shows while I am
typing. I still have to watch
to see if my text goes into the
picture and add a space or two
before I go to the next line of
text in order to leave a small
piece of graphic at the end of
each line. I like the way it
looks that way.

Testing, this is just a test folks
Ok, here we go again.
The right side doesn't
expand the way I want
it to. Why not? I am
really trying here, but
I don't seem to be get-
ting anywhere. I have
been trying the vspace
that Celeste told me
about, but I just don't
get it.
I have found all these
backgrounds that I
want to be able to use.
But I just can't get it
right.
Ok, I just tried this out
in my test journal and
it looked better than I
thought it could. So
I am going to try to
recreate it here to see
if it was just a fluke,
or if I actually did
something kinda
right for a change!
Don't know why I
picked yellow for the
text here, but I don't
think it looks too bad.
What do you think?
If you get an alert,
then come here only
to find I deleted the
entry you will know
that it didn't come out
so good! LOL
Keeping my fingers
crossed and saying a
silent prayer as I hit
the save button.
Kathy
It's a Sunday in October
I didn't realize that this background wouldn't be seam-
less but that's ok. I think it is supposed to be a graphic
of a very old brick wall.
I had all that I was going to write in my head but now
that I am sitting here my mind is blank. Of course it
isn't unusual for me to have a blank mind (LOL).
Tomorrow would have been my Aunt E's 76th birth-
day. I have never understood why people put flowers
on graves, but for some reason or another I feel that
I should put some there this time. I feel that since she
never married or had children, and little if any friends,
that with her dying it is almost like she never was. There
is no one to remember her. No one to keep her memory
alive. Maybe I feel that way because I am single with
no kids. Years ago I told my mom that I never wanted
to end up like Aunt E, and here I feel like that is what
I am becoming.
My youngest niece will turn 18 this week. Hard to
believe she will be that old. With her birthday comes
an insurance check from when she was in a car accident
a few years back. It isn't much money really but her
parents have decided that instead of putting it in a
savings account for her they are going to spend it. They
want to take a vacation and just drive around the USA.
I can almost promise you that by the time they are ready
to come home that they will be broke. And probably
won't have the money to get back to NC with. Oh well,
not my problem.
My dad came over last night. As soon as he walked in the
door he said my house stunk. Great. What does it smell
like dad? Cat. I have had cats almost from the time I
moved out from home. 2 cats. And my place has never
had an oder. I tried to get dad to help me pin down the
smell or what room but he just said he couldn't. He did
agree that he had never been in my house when it had an
oder. That's good. Would hate to think I have had cats
all these years and something stank and no one told me!
Have I ever told the story of Elmer? The cat that I
picked up in front of a diner a few years back? I didn't
have him but a couple of weeks when I had to put him
down. I should dig out pictures of him for you to see.
Guess that's all for today.
PS Because ever email I get from Rocketman has the this
I feel I must share it yet again with you guys. Why should
I be the only one to feel the heat? LOL
Feel free to copy/paste if you want it. It will change
each time you renew the page or whatever. So if you
take it don't be surprised that it looks different at
first.

Huh?
Ok folks. Take a look at this picture. I got it in an email.
What's wrong with it? Or is it what's right with it? LOL

Just me
Ok, as you can see I am still playing around with backgrounds.
I am still having problems with the ones that have a graphic on
the left side or trying to have good right margins. Celeste
sent some great links to help me, but I am so computer
challanged that it is taking me a while to figure it all out.
I am also trying to do a million things at once while online.
I want to get the background thing figured out, plus I need
to update all my journals.
I am trying to read some journals
and leave a comment or two. Plus remember I said that I
joined a million email groups? Most I used several different
email addys for -- a yahoo and a gmail(google's latest thing)--
but I am still overcome with all the email. I have always
wanted to get my email all cleared out every day. Well it's
not possible now. I have to drop some groups. But every
time I go to delete a group I start getting some cute graphics
and I don't delete.
Oh, and I am surfing around to find graphics to share with
my group. Did I mention that I am on dial up? Takes forever
to download things, and when I email graphics it takes forever
and a day for them to send and I can't do anything else while
they are sending.
Poor pitiful me!!! LOL
Dad called me this morning early. He said he was bringing his
truck to get R's ladder out of my shed (out building, whatever
you want to call the thing). I'm like: I have a ladder belonging
to R? Dad: yeah, he said he didn't want it anymore but I
knew he would come back for it. Me: So you stored it at my
place? Dad: yep. I gave A the other ladder you had up there.
Me: what other ladder? Dad: Before I retired they were
going to through it away because one of the legs got broke.
I fixed it by adding some wood to the bottom and it is as good
as new. Me: So it was at my place because that is where you
are storing your junk? Dad: it was a good ladder. Anyway
I gave it to A so you don't have it anymore.
I have got to check out that building to see what else he has
"stored" here! Just because I have some things "stored" at my
parents house (from when I moved out from home, or moved to
a place and had nowhere to put it) doesn't give them the right
to put things here! LOL
My girls -- the cats for those of you that are un-informed--
are doing great. Sophie is ALWAYS purring. Everytime I
pick her up she is purring. If I lean over to where she is
sitting she is purring. I don't get it. I guess she is a happy
cat.
That's all folks. Take care. I'll be around.

trying something new
Glad eveyone liked the
dancing cat! Nope, it isn't
one of mine but does look
alot like my little Sophie.
I finally got my
new glasses! Yeah. They
are taking some getting
used to.
As you can see I am playing
around with a background.
I got this in a group and
it wasn't called a back-
ground. They said it was a
letter. Anyways, it was huge.
So I cut it down. Problems
though. Even though the
right side will expand a
little more than it is, I
get to a point and it shoves
me to the next line. Well
I don't want to type on
top of the kitty's face. I
don't know how to fix it.
Maybe I should just stick
to things that say they are
backgrounds! LOL
I went to the
doctor yesterday. Just
a regular check up. But
it was with a new doctor,
and I knew it was time for
blood work. My old doc
left the practice and went
to work at the hospital.
The new doc is a woman.
She's ok, but I liked the
other one better.
All my blood work came
back ok. I was really
worried about my sugar
level. Last time it was at
the "cut off" point for
diabetes -- 126 -- but this
time it was down to 117! So
far so good but I have to
watch what I am eating and
try to lose weight and
exersize more. My grand-
mother, aunt and mom
are/was diabetics and I
really don't care to
follow in their footsteps.
That's it for now. I could
use some honest feed-
back on the background.
Thanks.

Sunday 7
THIS WEEK'S QUESTION:
Pull a couple of items off your pantry and cupboard shelves. Pick items that you eat fairly regularly. (You might be able to get seven answers from one single item, depending on what you choose.) Now list up to seven things in the Ingredients that you don't recognize. It's an interesting way to see what you're eating...whether you like it or not!
1 ferrous sulfate
2 thiamine mononitrate
3 disodium phosphate
4 enzyme modified cheedar cheese (ok, I know what cheedar cheese is, but is enzyme modified?)
5
6
7
Hey, I know what the rest of the stuff is. My list only has 4, should I go get another can of something?
Saturday, October 15, 2005
Hello everyone
Hello everyone. I have been trying to
make an entry for a couple of days and
have been having problems uploading the
backgrounds I wanted to use. Nothing
would upload. Grrrrrr. Finally I
decided to give up. And now this back-
ground won't spread to the right like
background's usually do. Grrrrr
Went to the eye doctor yesterday.
The receptionist was why are you here?
See I just had an exam and got new
glasses this past April. Well I have
been having tons of headaches that I
just knew were because of my eyes. I
was right! The doctor said that my
eyes had changed quite a bit since April.
Even enough of a change that he told me
to go ahead and get my sunglasses
changed. I am restricted on my drivers
license so I use the sunglasses about
all year round for driving.
I decided to use my old frames for
the sunglasses, but picked out a really
wild frame for my regular glasses.
Wish I had a picture to show you.
The other day I was really, and I
mean REALLY bored, so I surfed and
joined a ton of e-mail groups. I used
my yahoo, gmail, and aol addresses.
Sorta spread out the mail. LOL Glad
I did. I am getting so much mail there
is no way I will ever be able to keep up
AND read journals! Guess I will have
to un-join a few of the groups.
My cats are healthy. Thank goodness.
I read in the paper that there is a
new dog-flu going around in dogs. Some
dogs are dying because of it. So if
you have a dog and it's sick be sure to
ask the vet to test for the new flu as
the symptoms are simular to other things.
Gotta run and try to read some journals,
answer some mail, and send graphics to
my group. Oh yeah, I wanted to watch
some tv programs I taped this past week.

J-lander's get their 15 minutes of fame!
At first I thought my little eyes were playing tricks on me. There was a 2nd entry from Pamela this week! But her news just about took my breath away. She and Judi were interviewed by the Washington Post! And the story was printed! Woo Hoo!!!
Go to Pamela's to read her take on it.
Go to Judi's and see her mention it.
And go read the story! You have to regisiter to read the article, but it is totally free.
Blog on!!!

Got this in the mail today
Rocketman sent this to me today:
Don't forget if you need gift ideas check out my catalog journal. It lists the catalogs I have started getting in the mail. I will keep adding up until Christmas. Can't wait to see how many catalogs I will get between now and then. (yeah, right)

Saturday
I so love this background! Suzy sent it to me. I
know it is dark, but with white text and a bigger
text size I hope it works out ok.
This past Tuesday was such a pretty day so I
drove up to the mountains. Unfortunately the
leaves are late in turning colors this year so
the scenery wasn't as pretty as it could have
been. I went all the way into Virginia, stopped
and bought a lottery ticket. One of those
scratch off ones. Didn't win anything. North
Carolina just voted to get a lottery, haven't
gotten it yet, so everyone drives across the
state line to play. I don't go just to play but
if I am there I will spend a buck or two.
Stopped at some road side produce stands
and got some locally grown apples. Got some
called "Gayla" never heard of them before.
I also stopped in this one place that was
selling "amish" cheese. Well I LOVE cheese
so I had to get some. If the Amish truely
made this they are great at it!!!! Love it.
I have been listening to AOL radio lately. I
have it on the "Martini Lounge" station.
Recently they played a Paul Anka song. Now
I like Paul Anka don't get me wrong. But
the song he was singing!!! It was a VanHalen
song!!! It was the song "Jump". I can
just picture David Lee Roth doing that
jump kick while sing it. What in the world
was Paul Anka thinking?
Ok, looks like this background has a seam in
it. Weird, I didn't see it before. Oh well, it
is still pretty.
I hope you have all voted in the J-land
awards. If you haven't hurry over and do
it because the voting ends this Sunday.
Here's a link for you: VIVI Awards.
My cat Sophie is just the cutest little thing.
When I go to the bathroom she will bring
one of her toys in there and play until I
finish up. She is almost always goes from
room to room with me. Sadie does most of
the time but she isn't playing the way Sophie
does. The other day I was working with
my checkbook and I had some receipts laying
on the couch beside me. Little miss Sophie
jumps up on the couch and grabs one in her
mouth and runs off with it!! She loves
playing with paper. The little booger.
Kathy
I could use some help please!
Help!!
I recently opened up another screen name to use for some groups I am in. When I started to send a graphic this popped up:
I don't get this under any screen name except for the newest one. I love this option with sending graphics or pictures. Does anyone know how I can get it to work under my onestrangecat screen name? I have clicked on all (I think) the mail options I can find.
Kathy
update: I am not using You've got pictures on the other screen name. I am just copy/pasting from other emails or from my hard drive. It is so weird that this is the first I have seen it (with the other screen name) and can't get it to work with this screen name.

What does your birth date mean?
Saw this in another journal and thought I would give it a try. I guess for the most part it is right. What about you? Do you "fit" what it says about your birthdate?
Your Birthdate: June 22
While sometimes employing unorthodox approaches, you are capable of handling large scale undertakings.
You assume great responsibility and work long and hard toward completion.
Often, especially in the early part of life, there is rigidity or stubbornness, and a tendency to repress feelings.
Idealistic, you work for the greater good with a good deal of inner strength and charisma.
An extremely capable organizer, but likely to paint with broad strokes rather than detail.
You are very aware and intuitive.
You are subject to a good deal of nervous tension. What Does Your Birth Date Mean?

Voting, Catalogs, Past, Pitty Party
Can you believe it is October already? Christmas is almost
here for crying out loud! When did this happen? How did I
miss summer?
First things first. It's time for you, yes you there, to get
off your hiney -- well actually you probably need to be
sitting down to do this -- and participate in the J-land
voting! The offical "unoffical" (LOL) place to help you
find some journals to read is over at Steven's. After you
have read a bunch of journals and know who your going to
vote for then you need to go here and vote. Actually this
is just the first phase in voting. You are nominating
journals this go round. But I still think of it as voting.
Earlier I was saying how it was getting close to Christmas.
Well I have once again started trying to keep track of all
those catalogs I get in the mail this time of the year. They
are off to a slow start but you can see my list (and maybe
find a catalog you've never heard of and might like) over
at the journal I am keeping for such. StrangeCat's Catalog
Place. (spent hours thinking of a name! hee hee)
I have been thinking about past celebrations here in J-land
and ran across some things that I had about forgotten about.
For a blast from the past:
My Float for the 1st Anniversary Parade
AOL Journals 1st Anniversary Deco Book Project
I am also trying to "wake up" my other journals.
Something to Smile About
My Bible study place
I am not sure what happened and I stopped posting in them.
I think life started getting in the way. With my aunt and all.
I thought if I talked about them here then I would be
forcing myself to do better about posting over there. LOL
Not much going on here at the moment as I don't have a life.
I really need to get one. However my bouts with depression,
anexity and panic attacks aren't letting me do too much. I
still am working on cleaning out my aunt's house so we can
sell it. My parents just don't seem really interesting in
getting thework done so I am having to do most of by my-
self. I also have to keep making decisions that I would think
mom could handle but she isn't.
Ok, enough of my little pity party.
Get on those keyboards and go read journals and vote!!!!
