Thursday -- summer's almost over

I went to the dentist yesterday.  Had some cavities --- boo hoo  ---.  I was thrown off when the dentist walked in.  It wasn't my dentist!  I knew my dentist had remarried earlier this year and that his wife was a dentist --  but I thought my appointment was with HIM not her.  Evidently the shock showed on my face as she said she would get him if I didn't want her.  I soooooo bad wanted to say yeah get him in here (I've been going to him for like over 20 years) but I didn't.  I wish I had.

When she was finished with my teeth I go to pay.  Oh my goodness!!!!  I have never paid so much (except for a crown).  Over $500 for 2 teeth (oh, but one had to spots to be fixed so that was like doing another tooth!!)  I think we patients are helping to pay for his wedding and honeymoon!!!!!!

My aunt's house still hasn't sold. Ugh.  I know there is a housing slump but this is getting crazy.  How long can a house stay empty before it falls apart?  We even put a new roof on it without going up on the price!

Thanks to all that have been concerned about me.  It makes me feel good to know that someone is thinking about me.

There is a new show on the TLC network that has me thinking about Pamela (his1desire), it's called Crazy, Sexy Cancer.  Just the name brings to mind pictures Pamela had posted of her in her knitted cap and the one of her in her pj's.  It is amazing that I still think about and miss her.  I hope her children are doing ok.

I thought maybe AOL would offer up a 4 year journal badge (like they have done in the past) but I guess they didn't see a point.  Maybe for the 5th year anniversary?

My kitties are fine.  Maggie is starting to drive me crazy.  When I first got her she would only eat can food.  I finally got her to eat some dry and some canned.  Now little miss prissy wants to go back to all can food.  If I can out last her meows and fusses she will stay on a diet of mostly dry.  But there are times I give in to her and let her have what she wants -- it's either that or throw her out!  Kidding.  I would never doing anything mean to the cats --- but every now and then I think about it!  LOL

dentists do make a killing....that tho seems high for two teeth....
ANYWAY...if you go to my journal you can look in my side bar for the 4 year aol journals badge...I forgot who did it...AOL did not make a big deal of it....but they liked the idea that someone redid the badge and added 4 years to it....
Good to hear from you again....so glad the girls are well...

Donna also did a four year badge.  It is really cool.  And yes, I was disappointed that almost nothing was done for the four year anniversary this year.
I haven't seen that show on TLC yet.  Maybe I should catch it, b/c I don't understand the name of the show.  And BTW, there is nothing strange about you still thinking about Pam.

Sorry to hear of your dental woes. The 4th anniversary badge was made by Donna [nightmaremom] and is on display on my journal's sidebar.

Take care,

if it's any relief to you, the dentist in Calif. would have charged double or more.  We gave in and got a kitty.  She's a light tortise-shell and cute.  She was named Trinket, but I'm not sure . . . got any suggestions?  Love and blessings, Penny  http://journals.aol.com/firestormkids04/FromHeretoThere http://journals.aol.com/firestormkids04/TimeforaLittlePoetry

Just the title of that show makes me angry!  I'm too close to the subject I guess.  grumblegrumble

I sure know all about dentist and how expensive they are. It just seems like robbery you know? I mean you gotta go so you pay but you would think it would reasonable it never is.

Youch!  I think the dental bill hurt at least as much as a toothache would.  Glad your writing now and again.  You are missed.  :)
