Can't believe it is already June! Where has the year gone? Why is my birthday coming up so fast?
I finally, FINALLY, talked my dad into letting me hire someone to mow my yard. Dad had done it ever since I bought the house, but he is getting older now......Dad is 70 years old, has some breathing problems and whatever else. So I thought I was doing him a favor by saying I was looking into hiring someone to do the job. He would get upset and say he could do it and don't waste my money. I would tell him Dad you are getting older and it's just too hot for you to be out taking care of my yard. And he would mumble and grumble. He was going to mow my yard until he couldn't mow his own yard anymore.
I got mom to talk to him and he has finally come around! But he kept warning me how much it would cost to get my yard mowed. I will be the first to admit it ain't cheap -- the first quote I got was $45 whew.---but I looked out and found this guy who will do it for $30, and we settled on every two weeks. I think that is resonible.
The other day I got a letter from my insurance saying they weren't going to pay for my operation (a little over $3000.00) Had me totally freaked out. I called my surgeron and he had been paid, they gave me the number for the hospital to call. I called and the hospital said they had been paid!! So why did I get a letter saying the insurance company wasn't going to pay? Are they trying to give me a heart attack?
Saw this link in Woman's Day magazine: Sexlaws.org | The place to find answers Some interesting stuff. It's not a joke site.

My mom is 78 and still mows the yard. She loves it. I have to take the keys away from her though. She wants to cut it every week! Poor yard has no time to rest. Tammy
Have a good Thursday.

thirty dollars to have your yard done is VERY reasonable....glad you found someone to do it.....your dad definitely does not need that if he has breathing problems...strange about the insurance bill.....but that is the health care system...screwed up....
Glad to hear from ya...hope all is well....how are the girls?

They like to play games with you like that sometimes! I'm glad they've actually paid everyone, though. Good thing you called to make sure.

Hope you get that insurance thing worked out. They make life rough, don't they?

Glad dad is going to relax a little this summer. Best to you in your surgery. God be with you. - Barbara
Just thought I'd drop by & say HI. Hope things are going well for you.

Cathy -- you have the same lawn care plan we have here. Every two weeks (or if need be I call for an extra buzz cut) and $30.00 each time. The guy that mows our lawn also weedwacks (sp) around the flower beds and trees for me.
Now your dad can just sit and 'direct'!
Happy Birthday Kathy :) And the price for the lawn care? sounds pretty reasonable to me... I'd be giving your insurance company a polite earful lol. That's enough to cause a panic attack!! Teresa
Cathy, Happy Birthday, whenever it is-I hope the day was(is) a good one. I know that the struggles with your father can be frustrating sometimes, but you are really blessed with your family nearby. Margo
Hoping you had a very Happy Birthday!
Love,

Happy belated birthday, Kathy!

Surgery? What kind? And as for the screw up? Insuranse comapnies are run by aliens, not the post office, as some movies try to promote! :) (MenInBlack) Did you have your surgery. Hope wall will be wll. It's nice meeting you.

Whew, I guess that was a relief. For a minute there, I thought, "uh oh"...we know how wonderful these insurance companies are. Glad it worked out.
Kathy, Hi, I got your name from Krissy and came to read your journal. I also have a dad who insists on mowing the lawn. He says I can't do it as good as he can. Aren't they hardheaded. I cannot believe you got a letter from insurance saying you owed that much money. I would have had a heart attack for sure.
Good you checked things out and all has been paid I am going to check out Sexlaws.org for some interesting stuff. I just love your journal. Will be back for sure.
