Could be having bad weather tomorrow.......brrrrrr

No rants today.  At least not yet!  I am still trying to upload some graphics but AOL isn't working with me.  Guess you get what you pay for.  LOL

The town in which I live (that sounds weird......) is getting ready for some nasty winter weather coming our way.  In fact they have already called off school for tomorrow -- and nothing has fallen from the sky as of yet.  They have even called in more line men (the power company) to be in town for power outages.

I wasn't worried when I heard the weather.  But now with them calling off school and calling in more power people I'm starting to get a bit nervous.  It has been a few years since I lost power because of a storm (ice of course) and I had to be without for almost a week!  Now if it had been during the summer it would have been one thing, but in the winter is something else.  My cats were cold, I was freezing.  Oh gesh, that's not going to happen again, right?  right?

I watch only 1 soap opera (never knew why they called them that) and now I hear that it has been canceled.  Canceled?  A soap?  Goodness.  It still has a few months before the end but I am a tad po'd.  Oh I can live with out it, but if what a show for years and years you kind of hate to see it go.

Well the finale of Top Chef is tonight.  Can't wait to see who wins.  I would have never thought it would be between the 2 that it is.  I so thought Sam would win but they sent him packing last week.

Well I am behind in my journal reading, and if the power blips tomorrow I will be futher behind, but I'm still here plugging along.

Take care.  Pray that NC won't get hit with the weather they are calling for (as we always seemed to get more ice than snow).  Behave.  Tell someone you love that you do indeed love them.  Hug a cat/dog/bunny/furry animal (and that includes the Lump Russ! :) )

Since I'm ranting anyway........

What the heck is wrong with the actor dude from Grey's Anatomy?  He gets in front of a live camera and claims he never called co-worker the f word.  No one knew co-worker was gay until crazy dude says he never called him a name.

But wait!  It gets better!  Not only did he "out" a co-worker on national tv, not only did he use a slag term that is bad/wrong/whatever..........wait!!!!!!  On another awards show where the "gang" wins an award we are told that bad actor dude is in REHAB for calling someone an ugly name!!

I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE HEARD SUCH CRAP!  Have you heard of a rehab center for people who are insensitive  and vulgar?  Because you are rich and on tv they make a special place for you???????

Anytime a rich/famous person says or does something wrong/inapporate it will be ok because they can go into rehab for it?

HOW DO YOU GO INTO REHAB FOR CALLING SOMEONE A NAME?  The show should fire his sorry butt, the guy that got "outted" should sue him and people shouldn't be able to say "it's ok, i'm going into rehab"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok.  I think I am finished with my ranting today.  I feel some better now.  If you have no idea what the heck this entry is about don't worry about it.  But you should stop watching the tv show actor dude is on until they fire his sorry a** butt.

Kathy

Rant

I was in a lousy mood.  Now the mood is just flushed down the toilet.

Lousy mood is just what I live with daily.  How did it get flushed down the toilet?  AOL, or maybe it wasn't them.  Heck I don't know.  What I do know is that I moving links (some pretty good ones too) from my list to my journal.  Then as if by magic my "add an entry" page became that of one of the links I was putting in.  What to do?  I hit back and get back to "add an entry" page -- with all my links gone.  And stupid, idoit me had been deleting them as I put them in the journal.  Yeah, all the links I was putting in the entry are gone.  Poof!  Can't bring them back from anyplace I had them stashed (because like a fool I was deleting as I was adding).

Crap, crap, crap......and some more nasty four letter words..............

I do have a new entry here: My Bible Study Place

And a ton of new stuff over here: Forever Forward

I will try to remember what my links went to and try to find the again.  You would think as many problems as we have with AOL and journals that I would learn not to delete anything until I see it saved somewhere else.  Crap, crap, crap...........

We have a new WalMart in town.  This one is closer to where I live.  Funny thing.  I know where the WalMart is.  I have been there.  All the new stuff say WalMart is on "123 Any Street".  Well I am here to tell you that doesn't exsist.  You can't get there from here.  WalMart IS sitting as big day on "456 That Street There", but that's not the address they are using.  I went to MapQuest to see what it had to say.  According to MapQuest you can't get from my house to "123 Any Street".  According to the directions at the WalMart site I can, and if you don't know the road you would think it was possible.

BUT WALMART ISN'T SITTING ON FREAKING "123 ANY STREET" THAT ADDRESS IS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND.  IF YOU TURN LEFT OFF OF "ANY STREET" AND GO ABOUT .10 MILE ON "THAT STREET THERE" THEN YOU CAN INTO WALMART.  SOMEONE NEEDS TO TELL WALMART WHERE THERE FREAKING STORE IS!!!!!! AND HURRY, THEY ARE BUILDING A LOWE'S HOME IMPROVEMENT STORE NEXT DOOR AND THEY WON'T KNOW WHERE THE HECK THEY ARE EITHER!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I have Maggie sitting here purring and meowing.  She is so cute........but she is up to no good I just know it.

And the winner is..........Russ!

**dociousaliexpilisticfragicalirupus is **Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious spelled backwards from the Mary Poppin's movie!   You can read more about the word and the backward spelling of it here: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Julie Andrews won a lifetime acheivement award last night and that's what got me to thinking about it.  According to my mom Mary Poppins is the first movie (dress up and go to the movies) I ever saw.  And it was at a drive in.

Strangely enough the only movie I ever saw with my grandmother was Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music.

Glad to see some of you put your thinking caps on, and others of you were like I would be: duh?  LOL

**I copied pasted the word from the link, so if it's spelled wrong it's not my fault!  LOL

"dociousaliexpilisticfragicalirupus"

If I give you a tiny hit as to the "word" in the subject line I am sure you will know it right off.  So I'm holding back on the hint for a little.......mean aren't I?  Go ahead and guess.  And if my guess is right Russ will know it before anyone else.  Or will he???.......

Not much going on around here.  Just Maggie driving me crazy wanting food all the time.  I want to break her of wanting food all the time but I don't know how.  If I won't pay her attention she will find something made of paper and start to chew it, shred it, make all kinds of noise.  She has destroyed  bills, put "fang" marks on paperback books, and ate the tv section of the newspaper.  I try to have anything that she would want to chew on up and out of "harms" way.  But she always finds something, she has even pulled books down off a higher up bookshelf.

Now I don't starve her, and there is ALWAYS dry food down -- but little miss "I'm way too good for that crap!" snob would rather starve.  And I would let her starve for a meal or two to get into some kind of regular mealtime, but she is just too evil I tell ya!  LOL  Maggie knows what she wants and knows how to get what she wants.

He wants our help.

I love this guy.  He is wacky, crazy, and just well insane at times.

Now he says he has writers block and wants our help.    I think we should try to help.

alerts, news alerts? well duh!!!!!

Not exactly sure what the above creature is.  I'm thinking a beaver (see it's tail), but I just don't know.  He is having a rather good time though.

Last night I knew I would miss the end of Top Chef so I taped it.  Watched it this morning ---  only to find out the show was longer than the paper said and I missed who (and almost importantly why) got elimated.  Oh I'll bounch over to their web site later on but it isn't the same.  I so hate it when that happens.

I am just learning a few things online that I am sure most of you already know.  So I'm a late bloomer.......or whatever.  I have been trying to keep up with Law & Order SVU, and if the actors that were in talks would be back, who quit, and all that junk.  (hey get get bored, depressed and you find little things to occupy your days)  So today I just learned about yahoo, and google alerts.  I'm guessing all the major search engines have them, and maybe that is one thing I could have used AOL alerts for (but I always assumed --something you should never do-- the alerts were for birthdays, journals, etc.....).

So what am I getting to?  Ok, go to like google news. (http://news.google.com/) It will pull up all the latest news.  Now on the left hand side of the page is an envelope and the words "news alerts".  Well duh!  If I had only paid more attention to what I read!  Click on the envelope and you can put in any word (about the news, tv, celebrities, ect....) and you will get an alert everytime (or however you set it up) it is mentioned in the news.  So instead of hitting tons of newsites and websites trying to find if CM would be leaving SVU, all I had to do was to sign up for an alert (or two, I signed up with the yahoo news site also).  How much easier could that be?  How dumb can I be?  Now see I said DUMB not stupid.  If I had all my marbles and if I had really cared about world news I am sure I would have hit on this sooner or later.  Probably sooner.

So, if you're curious they will be back on SVU.  The show had be renewed for 1 more year, but the actors signed on for 2 more years.  Each making a whopping 6.5 million dollars for the next 2 years.

Here is a link for google alerts: Google Alerts  Can't find the one I used for Yahoo.  I'll post it when I find it again.

Sorry for stealing your idea John. Please don't hate me......

I'm sure if given enough time I could do an entry without stealing one from a better writer.  But well, being the whimpy little thing that I am I have decided to go ahead and steal -- or is it borrowing? from John over at By The Way.  I think he will excuse me.  I just took a link he gave and found something a little different to share.  Are you following this?

John gives us the link: Business 2.0's 101 Dumbest Moments in Business

While looking around at that link I found: 101 Dumbest Moments in Business | 50 | Business 2.0  The employee got fired for this one.  Oh, he just wanted to "Punk" his boss.........LOL

Here's the 101 list all on one page, take a chance and click on a couple.......you know you want to!  LOL  101 Dumbest Moments in Business: Full list | Business 2.0  Check out numbers 56 and 57!  And #64 -- there really isn't any dragon meat?  #87 --- can't go there........#88 is just wrong......#25.....poor fella, they should have given him a job.

And if you missed it, and wish you hadn't, go here to read last night's State of the Union address: President Bush Delivers State of the Union Address

Tuesday. Cat's are running my house. They only keep me to feed them and poop their box..

This is Sophie.  She doesn't look very happy in this picture for some reason, but trust me she is a very happy kitty.

I would love to enter her in that contest I mentioned an entry or so ago -- I think she could could win fluffiest tail -- but I can't find a catagory for her "breed".   She's a mix of who knows what which usually puts cats in the "american shorthair" breed.  But she has long hair.  Would she still be the american shorthair?  Everything else mentioned is pretty much a full blooded breed.  Oh well.......she knows she's beautiful with the world's fluffiest tail.  Sophie doesn't need to be "awarded" the title!  :)

If you like Law & Order: SVU, or like the actor Richard Belzer you'll like the video's that are over here:  Artists: Richard Belzer's Profile page on Super Deluxe  There are 2 really funny videos there.  Check it out.  If you surf around any on the clickable links at the top of the page you may run into some R rated content so be careful.  If you have a weird/sick sence of humor check out: Visitor Content Detail (Squirrel vs Marshmellows)  Prepare yourself to get a stupid song stuck in your head.

Gotta go.  Her majesty Maggie needs a can of cat food opened....

A partially stolen meme (tag)

I saw a meme over at Penny's and thought I would try it.  But it seemed soooo looonnngg, so I decided to just to pick out a few of the questions and forget the rest.  Is that ok to do?  Well, it's my journal and that's what I have decided to do.  LOL  Feel free to go to Penny's and get the entire meme or just steal a few questions from here and do an entry of your own.

Where were you when the ball dropped for 2007? I was sleeping on my couch in front of the tv.

How did you get the idea for your my space name? I  don't "get" what the big deal is with My Space.  It holds no interest to me whatsoever.

What are you listening to right now? A cat scratching in their litter box.  Now if she would just cover up........ and I can hear the tv in the other room

Has the death of a celebrity ever made you cry? Yes, Sometimes the timing just hits me.   I don't remember if I actually cried but I remember being really upset with Elvis died.  It felt like someone had been murdered almost.  When the Beatle John died I was just the opposit and couldn't understand why the world seemed to stand still.  Maybe it was my age at the time, or just whatever else was going on in my life at that time.  I don't know.

What color underwear are you wearing? All you need to know is that I am wearing some.  I used to work as a telephone operater at a catalog company, and hardly a day would go by without some jerk calling asking about my undies.

What are yourfavorite smells? fresh made coffee, and bacon frying.  I hate coffee but love the smell.  Bacon frying brings back a childhood memory.

What was the last concert you attended? That country duo, umm........Brooks and Dunn.  Someone had an extra ticket so I went.  First and last country concert I went to.  Don't remember which was Brooks and which was Dunn, but one of 'em had the longest legs and wore black jeans......

What is your favorite piece of jewelry?  my marvin the martian watch and I always wear my grandmother's wedding band.

What are your favorite stores?  book stores

Do you care what people think about you?  I say I don't but I think I do to some extent.  I think we all do.

What is the thing you’d most want to change about yourself?  LOL.  What don't I want to change?  Somethings I have finally realized are not within my grasp.  I just need to learn to be happy with who/what I am.

What is your favorite color?  green.  so why am I answering in blue?

What do you tell yourself when times get hard?  that someone else has it harder and to stop whining.

          do you ever feel like?

            why yes, yes I do.......

Sunday, bad day

Here are 3 TRUE links for you.  I haven't had any of the stories to hit my inbox yet, but I guess it's just a matter of time.  These links take you to snopes.com which separate the true from the hoax.  And let me tell you sometimes the true sounds just way too stupid to be true sometimes as you will see here:

Urban Legends Reference Pages: Storm Worm

Urban Legends Reference Pages: Discount Mat Rude Response to U.S. Soldier

Urban Legends Reference Pages: Hitman Bribe Scam

The weather here is lousy.  The streets look wet but are really icy.  Nothing good on the TV, I have food but am just to lazy to cook it.  Guess it's the weather or maybe not, but I have been hit with some bad depression.  I was doing better and then yesterday morning out of the blue I started feeling down again.  Today is worse.

I am so behind in my journal reading that I just hit the "mark as read" on the google reader for over 100 entries that I haven't read in the past couple of days.  I hated seeing that big of a number.  Even some of the posts that I read I couldn't tell you what they were about.

I think I should stop watching TV when I am like this.  It seems like everyone on every single show has a better life than mine (oh I know they are just actors on made up shows)  I know I am not making an sence, but that's ok -- when do I ever?

I ordered a pizza yesterday.  Guess I'll go reheat some of the left overs even though it's not what I want.  I have no idea of what I want, I just know it's not here and the weather is too bad to go anywhere.

Seems like everytime I talk to mom there is more that she is forgetting.  Or sometimes she hasn't forgotten but it takes a while to come up with the word she is looking for.  She's afraid her doctor will put herin a nursing home.  I've tried to tell her that the doctor can't do that, it's up to me and dad and we aren't doing that.  She just doesn't seem to understand.

Another boring Saturday night?

Bored?  Tired of chasing the cat off your desk?

Can't help with the cat problem.  But I do have some new links posted over here:

What to do online

Please pay attention when I give warnings to any links that may have adult material.  I know I miss some links or don't warn about every one that has some language.  But if I do give a warning please beware if you have little eyes checking over your shoulders.

Weekend Assignment #148: Cats or Cheese?

John has a weekend asignment that I just can't pass up on:  Weekend Assignment #148: Cats or Cheese?  First I think the man has lost his mind.  Gotta get that out there.  Who in their right mind would put cheese up against cats? or cats up against cheese?  I mean really?

I love cheese.  I love cats.  Cats love cheese.  And now John wants me to pick one?  LOL

This is my answer:

That's Maggie on the left and Sophie on the right.  Maggie has short hair and Sophie is the diva with long hair.

Now tell me, could you chose cheese over these precious little girls? :)

Now for the extra credit part.

I love almost any cheese there is.  I keep the American sliced cheese for sandwiches and a sharp cheddar for nibbling.  I have been known to other cheeses but that is mostly what you will find in my fridge.

Type (breed) of cat?  I grew up with a Siamese and I LOVE the way they talk to you.  I have seen breeds that look like their big/wild counterparts, and they are beautiful also.  But going to buy/adopt a cat what would I get?  Well if you take a look above you will see the 2 I got from the animal shelter.  I didn't set out to get black cats (although I think they are beautiful) but that's what I have.  Both were adopted by me because of their purrsonalities.  When I got Maggie I picked up (or tried to anyway) every cat that was in the shelter.  Maggie just laid her head on my shoulder and went to purring.  How could I not take that home?

Misc from magazines, etc.....

Ok, I will admit it.  But just this once!  I'm a links junky.  Don't know what it is but when I hear one mentioned on the tube, the radio, or see them in magazines I have to write it down (tear the page out of the magazine) and go check it out.  Sometimes a lot of time will pass from me saving the link and then actually looking up the link, but I will save that scrap of paper until I get the link looked up.

I have pages of old magazines (and some current) right here on my desk.  So I'm going to list the links from them here.  I haven't looked at the links yet so if you find something that is inappropriate please let me know.  I really don't think you will have to worry about that with these (from Cat Fancy, Woman's Day.....those types of magazines).

Just click on the month and then look for the day:

I just missed (by a couple hours) being born on: Cuckoo Warning Day

So glad I missed that one and was born on National Chocolate Eclair Day.

tuna = purr?

My little corner of the world has finally gotten some winter weather.  NO, this photo is from here.

I got the photo in an email with tons of ice covered things from over seas somewhere.  I know that ice can be deadly, but I think it is just so very pretty.

I did wake up to some snow an a little sleet today.  It's always so pretty when things first start to get covered.  Not much snow is left but there is tons of water around which I know will be ice in the morning.

Maggie still isn't her usually self.  I worry, and was thinking of calling the vet again and maybe even a trip there.  She ate about 2AM this morning.  Nothing all day yesterday and nothing since.  But I thought I would try 1 more thing to see how she was feeling before I called the vet.

Maggie was sleeping on my bed.  I go into the kitchen  -- Sophie is already in there eating away -- and with out saying a word I pick up a small can of tuna and open it.  Before I have the top all the way of the can here comes Maggies slowly walking in........before I can get the tuna on a plate (nice paper plates for my girls "fine tuna dining") I have 2 cats rubbing at my ankles.  Maggie chows down!!!  Sophie is having some good "grub" too but her paper plate trys to walk everytime she takes a lick.  Maggie put her foot on her plate to keep it from walking away.  LOL

Oh yeah, I feel better.  I have never given them tuna before (I know I am a mean  mom.  Rarely if ever do they get human food), and for Maggie to come in go to eatting it just did my heart good.  Can't tell you how much better I feel about her now.  I think we will wait another day before calling the vet.  And the girls will have another "fine tuna dining" experience later tonight when I give them the rest of the can of tuna.

AOL gave me a fit last night.  I had tons of email that I couldn't see.  I had the fix but had problems getting the right screens to come up and open.  So mad!

Today my email groups are sending tons and tons of Valentine graphics.  I HATE Valentine's Day.  Despise it, loathe it.  It isn't good for anything.  Well, I guess it helps keep Russ in a job......

One less purr this morning......

To start:  Today is Penny's birthday.  Go wish her a great one!  From Here to There . . .

The temps kept falling yesterday so that it now feels somewhat like winter here.  Can't believe that it is finally happening!  Well I knew it wouldn't stay warm forever.

Here's a link I'm going ahead and throw out to you.  Some of you may already have it: Brilliant But Cancelled  I heard that the show Lost may be on it's way out, a little sooner than expected.  Face it, after finding out about "the others" where does the show have to go?  Brilliant But Cancelled - NewsWire - End Near for Lost?

Yesterday I took Maggie for her rabies and distemper shot.  She did great.  Today when I got up I knew something was off.  I called the vet and he said she is probably sore from the shots and might be running a low fever. ???? My baby!  He said some cats get like that after the shots -- this is my first cat to ever react like this.  Dr B said she would be better this afternoon, tomorrow at the latest.  She had better be Dr B!  I worry about her.  Next time she is due for shots (3 years from now) he said he would give them to her like a week apart instead of together like usually does.  You should see my poor little girl........and her purr is gone right now.  Maggie ALWAYS purrs.  All the time.  When the vet trys to listen to her heart he has problems because of her constant loud purrs.  And now she feels so bad that it's gone........:(

Trying to clean house, watch tv, and play on the computer.......wonder which I will get more of done?  LOL  I should just curl up next to Maggie and try to purr for her.  My poor little baby...............

yeah it's some alien dude.  don't know
       which one though

no title for this entry

I have been sitting here trying to think of something to write.  Not coming up with much.  There is a new journal that you have to visit.  He is in the 3rd grade and most of his entries are drawings he has been doing (he loves dinos!) Go Go Godzilla Go encourge him who knows he would grow up to be the next ......heck, my brain just froze, can't think of the man's name.  Crap.  The ET guy.......Steven Spillberg!  That's it.  Or this kid could be a huge successful artist one day.  Ya just never know.

Chuck had done a Patrick Seven over here: Sunday Seven II  This one is easy so I'll give it a try:

Name seven celebrities whom you'd be happy to go a year without hearing another word about.

So easy!
1  pop singer that doesn't wear unddies anymore, but am glad you dumped the wanna be rapper of a hubby

2  famous for being rich, and for the video that got released on the web.......

3  The scientology guy that duped the girl next door into marrying him.

4  little miss Disney kid growing up without unddies.....

5  rapper that changes his name every 6 months (or so it seems) you're rich we know it

6  the porn guy that has let himself turn into the average looking every man.  what he may have had once he doesn't got anymore and we really could live without your mouth on reality tv shows

7  red carpet woman that's had all the plastic surgery, how can you judge what other women look like? you don't even look like yourself anymore

Guess I am in a mood to talk junk about famous people huh?  I should shut up.

I already have a ton of links I could share.  You know I don't go looking for them, they just seem to come to me somehow.  I really wish I had a way of organizing them better in the links journal.  It started organized but went down hill.  The better organized the fewer I would post.  I just couldn't seem to make myself spend the time to do it right.  I'm sorry.  I go look for something and can't find it.  My own fault.  Maybe one day......when I'm rich and can pay someone else to do it for me I'll get it organized.

:::jumping up and down with excitement::::::

Didn't plan on making an entry.

But just read another J-lander's news and I'm so very excited for him.  I want to help spread the word.

Ste lives in England.  Last year he tried out for a boy band that is starting.  We've waited a long time for this entry folks:

The outcome.....

Congratulations are definitely in order.  And to think "we knew him when"  LOL  Oh I know it could take a long time between "getting the job" and "getting famous" but the fact is he is in and that is a huge deal.  Right?

So go and give him your best "teenage girl scream" that they give to those "boy bands"!

just another day in the life of someone just taking up space

Nothing going on here to write about.

I have been wanting a small toaster oven and my dad popped up with me one yesterday.  I fixed one of those "it's not delivery" pizza's in it.  Almost burned the pepporoni, guess I need to move the shelf down some -- or check it while it's cooking.  I set the timer and left the room until I heard it ding.  My bad.

My new neigbors are sort of weird.  They mowed their lawn yesterday.  No one has mowed since like early November (or sometime in October?).  Hmmm........

Here's a couple journal entries you might like to read:

Can you hear the voices?  reminds me of toon's drawings of late

New stuff over here:  Forever Forward  Got more for there but some really do need the pictures/graphics and AOL is being such a slow poke today that I have given up.

And before I loose the little piece of paper I have them written on........a few links I heard about on some tv show I was watching the other day:

Again: I just share links that come my way.  Don't buy, send money, or do whatever without checking the site out for yourself.  I don't endorse anything.  If by some chance I do I will tell you otherwise you are own your own.

I got this email......

I got this email today asking me to sign an online petition.

It's for a great cause.  I totally agree with what it is for.  I agree something should be done.  (I'll tell you more about it later)

However, just how effective are e-petitions?  Maybe not so much.  Go and read this:Urban Legends Reference Pages: Inboxer Rebellion (Internet Petitions), take your time I'll be here when you get back.

hmmm........

Back?  Ok.  First let me say that I have "signed" e-petitions in the past and I may do so in the future.  I am not knocking them.  I am NOT telling you to not sign one.

I'm going to give you MY opinion (along with that of the above article at snoopes.com).  I believe that we would get a better, a more positive response from writing/calling our elected officals.  Maybe even a real honest to goodness PAPER petition.

Why?  It is easier to ignore or to explain away e-petitions.  How many times can one person sign endless names?  Depends on how many computers he/she has access to or how well the program is written to shut down such attempts.  I believe that is what the "officals" will say.  It would harder to ignore 1,000 signatures on a piece of paper or 1,000 letters.

As much as we do online it may be hard to believe (and I could very well be wrong) but if you want someone's attention the best way to get it is with the pen and paper or the trusty telepone.

Here's a link you need to keep handy.  If you don't know who your elected offcials are you can find out here: Project Vote Smart - American Government, Elections, Candidates and Voting, you can also look for your state's web page.  I live in NC so I did a search: NC state offical web page, and a couple of choices popped up.  I saw the page I was looking for, brought it up and low and behold there is a link on that page for all the elected officals here in NC.

Whew......are you still with me?  The email I got, the cause it is for.....that's what prompted me to do this entry.  Here I am going to copy/paste the email.  I totally agree that this is wrong and this woman should not be put to death.  Sign the petition, but call your elected officals to.  It is a shame that Iran still values their women so little.

Please note that the email says that in 5 days the woman will be hanged.  But I don't see a date on the petition. So I don't know how long you have to sign it, so if you are intertested hurry.

Citizens of the world we don't have much time. In five days, a woman called Nazanin will be hanged for trying to honor her body as three men saw it fit, to take whatever they chose. Such men are called rapists but Iran, the man is protected and the woman is not. The man shines on his alter and the women are garbage.

Nazanin protected herself and was able to stab one of the rapists and infact, he did die. During the courts, she cried and said that she didn't mean to kill him where in America, a woman can say with confidence, I did mean to kill him. I meant to protect my life and my body with all of my being.

It's sad that a woman's body is garbage to some. We can pull together and sign a petition for her and in hopes of saving her and while stating, we honor her. Miracles can be hard to hope for but I will cry greatly if she dies in five days especially, when hope is just ten seconds of your time. Its' so utterly devastating to me.

The court, however, issued on Tuesday a sentence for Nazanin to be hanged to death.

Please signthe petition and send a message to Iran, that Nazanin is not garbage!

A must read

??????  LOL

Can I borrow some soap?

How to find a man on the web

How do you find a man on the internet?  Dang if I know.  But I will share with you something that I found that could get you a date ---- if you ante up some money.  Don't worry by the looks of it it's not going to be your yearly salary.  But I don't know if I would do it.

Here is how I got there -- and the hunt is part of the fun right?

I click on a link over at Joe's: Send Lawyers, Guns, Hockey Players and Video Store Clerks

Sounded like it might be a good read.

It got me here: Tucker Carlson Gets Blogger Fired, Rents "Crash" - Wonkette

Which refers me to another link (will I ever get to the article that Joe is talking about):
Freelance Genius: Not as Recognizable as You Might Think Mr. Carlson

Nice little blog.  Doesn't talk about the firing so I guess I missed a link somewhere.

So any way I am now at a blog and think I should check it out a little.  So I click on the title of the blog to get me to the most recent entry: Freelance Genius

Are you following all of this?

The most recent entry there gives me a link to this: The Not Girls' Charity Auction

Which tells me I can click here: V-Day: Until the Violence Stops to find outabout the charity they are raising money for.

But before I click and go there, I gotta check out the men: The Not Girls' Charity Auction

Men!  Finally!  And they will date me!  Well they will if I choke up the cash and no one outbids me.  Of course I probably should live in the DC area.........

And beside the men's pictures are links (of course) to their blogs or to another page to tell you more about them.

What have we learned?

Spend a day hoping from one link to another and you might happen on something good, or something fun, or some good looking men.  Maybe a date?  mmm...... A life partner? I doubt that!

Spend some time linking around the net.  You never know what you might run across!

Kathy

***update -- here's another link, he's one of the guys up for bid.Citizen of the Month » Bid On Me!  sounds like he has a great personallity (oh, isn't that what the say when something is missing in the looks department? ouch).  another blog to read.

National De-Lurking Week

all graphics in this entry are
                     "stolen" from this site:
                      Paper Napkin: Hello Out There

Say what?  National De-lurking Week?  What the heck?

I just read about this over at Paul's: Aurora Walking Vacation

It seems as if there is a national week that some blogger came up with.  We all read journals/blogs that we rarely/never comment at.  So this is the week to pop in on all of those and make a comment!  Even if it is just hello and your name.  Great idea don't ya think?

So why don't ya just:

Leave comments everywhere you go this week.  It's National De-Lurking Week after all!

I think Michael could use some of J-land's cyber hugs and prayers.

I trust that you will read his entry and know that this is a sensitve topic and will leave your remarks accordingly.

Keeping a Candle Lit

This could be a mistake, but I gave you warning! LOL

I recently got an email (through a group I am in) talking about a new search engine.  One that has a LIVE human to help you search!  Say What?  Yeah I know.  But you can make money while helping others search for stuff on the web?

I haven't really checked into this.  I'm hoping one of you will and will let me/us know if this is something great or if this entry is a waste of my and your time.

Here's a site to check out: ChaCha Launches - MySpace Meets Search - Mashable!

And here is one of their search pages:  ChaCha Search - Search Results

Now rush, click, read, find more out about this new "tool" and I'll let you post an entry here explaining it to all of us.

Thanks everyone.

Kathy

Not much of anything to say.  Today feels like an early summer day.  It is so warm, my computer screen says it's 67 here right now.  Not bad for an early January day huh?  Wonder if it will snow in June or something weird like that this year?

Long Day

I feel like I have been awake forever.  Today has been really long.

To catch you up:  Yesterday my doctor decided that I needed to come off the med I have been on and try something different.  Well Duh!  I will be taking some things I have taken before but not in this combination.  I have to come off the old med slowing and work up to a "therapeutic dose" of the new stuff.  It should take about a month to get everything the way it should be taken.  I have to go back in 2 weeks and get blood levels for whatever he needs to watch.  I'm ok with that.  I have been on stuff before that you had to do liver checks every so often and even the drug levels to make sure everything was ok.  So we will see if things work.  It may take a few weeks.  But that is where I am now.

Had to take mom to the doctor this morning.  She refused to let dad take her.  I went in with her and talked to her doctor about mom's memory and other things that seems "off".  The doctor gave mom a memory test.  It showed that she has mild memory loss.  The doctor is starting her on something called Aricept.  It is supposed to stop (or slow down) any more memory loss, but what has already happened in her brain will stay that way -- or I guess I should say she won't get any better.  Hopefully not worse but definetly not better.

I have tons of new stuff over at: Forever Forward So go check it out.

My telephones are messing up.  The cordless ones won't work.  I thought maybe it was the battery but dad checked into it for me and it is something I have to get customer support for.  Something about reprograming the handsets to "talk to" the base.  I don't understand at all.  I tried calling the 1-800 number on my cell phone but with all the menu's you have to go through I got really fed up.  They did give a web site so I went there and emailed them about the problem.  I got astandard reply saying they would get back to me within 1 to 3 business days.  Great.  I do have 1 phone that works (ya know the old kind that has a cord from the handset to the phone base).  I have it in the kitchen so if the phone rings I will have to run into the kitchen to get it.  We are way too spoiled with all the new technology stuff.  I remember when you actually had to dial (rotary) a phone, no push buttons back then.  Am I telling my age?

Just got this new tag.  Love it.  I love Hitchcock movies and the Birds is one of the best.
