So I needed a pick-me-up. Could you use one too?

Dance like no one is watching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1 lonely little link for you

John "Rocketman" sent me this link.  After I got over being stupid (watch what you say!) it wasn't too bad of a game.

Some questions that found their way into my email.

Some interesting Questions

Why does the sun lighten our hair, but darken our skin?

Why can't women put on mascara with their mouth closed?

Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?

Why don't you ever see the headline "Psychic Wins Lottery"?

Why is "abbreviated" such a long word?

Why is a boxing ring square?

Why is it called lipstick if you can still move your lips?

Why is it that doctors call what they do "practice"?

Why is it that rain drops but snow falls?

Why is it that when you're driving and looking for an address, you
turn down the volume on the radio?

Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing
      liquid made with real lemons?

Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?

Why is the third hand on the watch called second hand?

Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?

Why is the word dictionary in the dictionary?

Why isn't there a special name for the tops of your feet?

Why isn't there mouse-flavored cat food?

Why can't they make the whole plane out of the same substance that
little indestructible black box is made of?

Can fat people go skinny-dipping?

Why do you need a driver's license to buy liquor, when you can't drink and drive?

Just a little something to get your day/week started off on a great note.

Now run along to work/school!  And wipe that lipstick off your face!

Last Monday in May 2006

I'm typing this with one hand.  Sophie is laying across my right hand.  I keep trying to run her up but she keeps coming back.

Just sitting here reading emails and listening to "that" AOL radio station.  They may be bad songs but I like some of them.  Ok a lot of them.

I have a couple of links for you to go to.  I haven't "pimped" a journal lately and I'm not really doing that now.  I found some great entries that are worth checking out.

Sent to Me in an e-mail - - -

LAST VISIT TO MY DOCTOR

And this person could use some help:

Taking a Peek into Family Secrets

And so does Russ:

What do I do with this??

In today's newspaper I found something I would like to share.  It was in one of those advice columns.  Ask Amy.  I won't recap the whole letter,  just the part that for some reason hit me and I just have to share it.

This is a quote by Amy Dickinson:

When you sling mud, some of it gets on you.  Every time you are cruel, your own soul takes a hit.

Pretty hard hitting huh?  I like it though.

That's pretty much it for now.  Take care.  Enjoy the rest of your day.

Sunday Evening

I really don't have anything to say.  But I'm bored so I thought I would pull out some weird graphics and try to think of something witty to say while they (the graphics) upload.

I still basically got nothing.  So I will just copy Russ once again and do 5 things.

5 things I love

1  sweetened iced tea  -- I went to Maryland once and ordered tea and it came unsweetened!  Mercy.  There should be a law against unsweet tea!

2  big shade trees.  Ain't nothing like sitting under a tree on a hot day.  Seems like most people are cutting all their trees down.  What a shame.

3  ice cream sundaes with nuts.  If I have to explain then you've obviously never had one.

4  getting mail.  Mostly these days all I get is bills.  But growing up I had tons of pen pals.  I could hardly wait for the mail man to show up.

5  dictionaries. I have always been a bad speller.  When I went to the local community college I would have surely flunked if not for Webster's Dictionary.  Had that same one for years until someone at work stole it.  Ok, so maybe it wasn't stolen, it grew legs and walked off never to be seen again....

I have a graphic that freaks some of you out.  Now thanks to a graphic group I have a whole set of the graphic!  So for MY enjoyment:

Don't ya just love it?  LOL

Right here is where I should be doing 5 things I hate.  But I have cats climbing all over my desk and it is hard to type.  So I'll go.

Oh, before I go I saw this on a message board and loved it.  I need to get someone to make it into a graphic:

'I keep hitting Esc ... but I'm still here!'

Here's a side of me I haven't shared before:

kind of reminds me of the little girl in BeetleJuice.  lol

Memorial Day

It sounds kinda weird to say "Happy Memorial Day"  But I guess the fact that we are celebrating the lives of those who died for our country can make it a happy day instead of down day.  Think all you want about what war(s) were wrong or right.  The bottom line is men and women DIED believing in our country.  Now that the draft has long been gone these men and women are making that decision -- to fight -- all by themselves.  And in this day and age they have to pretty much know that they will have to fight.  Knowing that and still inlisting takes more guts than I will ever have.

I got nothing else.  Just these graphics:

It's Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ya just gotta love weekends.  Doesn't matter if you work, go to school, or even work on the weekend, there is something mentally about a Saturday that is just great.  Way back I used to work weekends but it was ok.  It was slower and the bosses weren't around.....I'm going absolutely nowhere with this.  I am just feeling good at the moment.

Do any of you watch the show Lost?  Did you see the season finale?  Can you tell me WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?  I am soooooooo lost!  If Desmond knew what would happen why didn't he press the button?  What was that look between Jack and Kate at the end?  Is Henry running the show?  I am utterly and completely lost.

Kitty here looks so cute. But a cat meowing and jumping all over you trying to get fed....well it can get annoying!!  Sophie has started trying to get me up around 5am or so for food.  Not gonna happen!  There is always dry food down (3 kinds at the moment  -- long story as to why 3 but we are working our way down to 1) so she's not going to starve.  I wouldn't even give them can food but when I first got Maggie she wouldn't eat.  I was worried that she was sick took her to the vet and she offered Maggie some can food and Maggie started eating like there was no tomorrow.  Maybe I can slowly get her off canned and on to a strick dry diet.

Not sure what this little fellow is, but he's cute so he deserves to be in my journal.  LOL

Anyone got big plans for Monday?  Me? Nothing really.  Probably grill hamburgers at theparents house.  They are having work done on the foundation to their house done starting Tuesday and it may take up to 2 weeks to get it finished.  So Monday is like the last relaxing day around there until all the workmen get finished.

Guess that's it.  Take care.  Don't do anything I wouldn't do (yeah that means YOU).  LOL

Got this in an email ~ thought it was good enough to share

~ I  FEARED ~

I feared being alone ...
until I learned to like myself.

I feared failure ...
until I realized that I only fail when I don't try.

I feared success ...
until I realized that I had to try in order to be happy with myself.

I feared peoples opinions ...
until I learned that people would have opinions about me anyway.

I feared rejection ...
until I learned to have faith in myself.

I feared pain ...
until I learned that it's necessary for growth.

I feared the truth ...
until I saw the ugliness in lies.

I feared life ...
until I experienced its beauty.

I feared death ...
until I realized that it's not an end but a beginning.

I feared my destiny ...
until I realized that I had the power to change my life.

I feared hate ...
until I realized it was nothing more than ignorance.

I feared love ...
until it touched my heart making the darkness fade into
endless sunny days.

I feared ridicule ...
until I learned to laugh at myself.

I feared growing old ...
until I realized that I gained wisdom everyday.

I feared the future ...
until I realized that life just kept getting better everyday.

I feared the past ...
until I realized that it could no longer hurt me.

I feared the darkness ...
until I saw the beauty of the starlight.

I feared the light ...
until I learned that the truth would give me strength.

I feared change ...
until I saw that even the most
beautiful butterfly had to undergo a
metamorphosis before it could fly.

Thursday before the 3 Day Weekend

I have finally decided to turn most all my alerts off.  I will keep a few -- some people post like once a month so I like to keep those alerts active.  It's just too depressing to have a mailbox full of alerts and no time to get to them all.  And a lot of times there could be 4 alerts from one person so I don't have as many journals to read as I thought.

So I will keep my list and try to visit everyone on it as often as possible.  Hope you understand.  I may go back to all alerts one day but right now I am soooo over them.

I am so ill at my computer.  My other one had Word but it was so much easier to use than what I have now.  I have WordPerfect Office 11.  First off I don't need office and secondly every time I try to get it to alphabetize something it says I have too much and to use a smaller amount, then it freezes up and says something about a crash and wants to send an error message to Windows.  I HATE IT!

I still have all the CD's from my other computer so I thought I could just upload Word from one of them.  Can't.  Don't know what I am doing wrong but I just can't find it or the program I was used to using for photos.  I have the CD's I just can't locate what I want on them.  Gotta be something I am doing wrong.

I am reading this true crime book about a murder that happened in SC a few years back.  Turns out the guy that pulled the trigger was someone I used to work with!  I really didn't know him that well, we worked for the same company and I basically just saw him around.  It is so weird to have been around someone that murdered someone.

Actually he is the 2nd person I have known that killed.  When in my mid to late teens one of my brother's friends was arrested for killing his wife.  It was so strange to see him on the tv for murder.  His parents ending up raising their 2 children.

Guess that's all I got for now.  Take care.  Since this weekend is Memorial Day I thought I'd use a patriotic sig tag:

because i feel like it

Elmer

I dug out my scrapbooks so I could share pictures of Elmer.  They aren't the greatest pictures and these are the only ones I have of him. You can tell that at one time he must have been really beautiful. They were taken in the vets office the day I found him.  I had him put to sleep on July 6, 2002

Just random stuff

Not much going on around here so I thought I would just write about random stuff.

Now I just have to think of some random stuff!  LOL

*My very first boyfriend called me last year.  He was going through his 3rd divorce.  I figured there must be something wrong with him so I wouldn't meet up with him (he lives across the state line).

*One summer a few years ago I saw this really pityful cat outside a diner.  No one was doing anything for it so I picked it up and took it to the vet.  He had been someone's pet as he had be neutered and front claws declawed.  But it was obvious he had been out and on his own for awhile.  He did ok at the vet, but when I brought him home (kept him shut in my bedroom until I was sure he didn't have anything my other cats could get) he kept having dirrea.  After visits to the vet and all kinds of meds Dr B and I decided it was best to put him down.  I cried like I had owned that cat for years instead of just a few weeks.  I had named him Elmer.  Why Elmer?  Because when he ate he would get food stuck all over his face -- kind of like elmer's glue.

*One month from today I will be a year older.  Remember this tid bit because I won't mention it again.

This dude isn't dancing for any reason.  I just thought it was cute and needed something to break up my entry a little.

*When I was little I left my bike in the driveway behind the car.  To this day I still think my dad ran over it on purpose.  But he denies it.

*My grandmother -- on mom's side -- and one of my aunts  -- on dad's side -- died the same day and was buried on the same day in different cities.  We went to both funerals. My aunt's family arranged the funeral time so it would be later than grandma's so we could make it.  It was really hard and exhausting.

*Funerals are so different for each side of the family.  Mom's side is quite, reserved, don't break into a smile or laugh someone might see and think ??? Think what I don't know.  My dad's side of the family funerals are like mini family reunions (as none of them live all that close to each other) and while it is a somber time, everyone is talking, laughing and basically having a good time.

*I've never had lots of friends.  Just one or two at a time.  And they always deserted me when I needed them the most.  I am lousy at picking friends and men.

Well I think this has been long enough.  And I managed to depress myself with it.  Still listening to the top worst songs of all time.  Right now they are playing Wannabe by the Spice Girls.

Having dreams and cravings for this:

another love/hate list

** Angela --the paper above says that Elvis has been sited!!**

Ok another chance to share with you things I love and things I hate.  Do you think you can handle it?  LOL

 Loves:

1  The new Dr Pepper flavor Berries & Cream  YUM!

2  Watching my cats play fighting  -- this can be soooo funny

3  The color green.  Love it.  Almost any shade of it will do.

4  Collecting graphics -- why? don't know.  have more than I can use and don't know what I will do with most of them.  It's an addiction I tell ya!

5  Jewel  -- sure she has a potty mouth but she can be very funny.  Here is where she is: click me

Hate:

1  Jewel's potty mouth!  LOL Ok, so it is a love/hate thing.  Kind of like craning your neck to see a wreck on the side of the road.  You don't want to look but you just have too.  Jewel if you see this know that I love ya!

2  When my neighbor sits in his car  -- with the really loud muffler  -- and just guns the engine.  No reason for this that I can think of, other that it bugs me.

3  When I was younger I would wear perfume quite a bit.  There was this man I worked with andhe was always wanting to know who I was wearing it for.  I kept telling him I wore it for me NOT for someone else.  He never believed me.

4  Seeing all the animals at the animal shelter.  Most will never get adopted.  It breaks my heart.

5  Junk food calories.  I LOVE junk food.  But the calories are a problem for me.  And so is the fat content...anything that taste good is bad for ya.  Hate that.

6  Ok, so this is an "extra" one.  A certain someone -- you know who you are -- that doesn't read/answer their email.  Shame on you!!!! LOL

Saw this on a bumper sticker:

Don't litter
spay/neuter
your critter.

Sunday Afternoon

Another weekend has come and is just about gone.  So sad.  But next weekend is a 3-day one so something for everyone to look forward to.  Well, not everyone.  It's mostly just office workers that will get Monday off work.  So sad again.

Ok everyone has made fun of the AOL radio station I have been listening to.  Shame on you people!  I bet you would like at least 85% (if not more) of the songs played on 111 Worst Songs Ever. (Wonder why they picked 111 songs? Not 100 or some nice round number) Ok they are playing a Britney Spears doing "I Love Rock N Roll" which really shouldn't have ever been allowed to see the light of day.  But I like MeatLoaf.  And that song of his  "I'd Do Anything For Love (but I won't do that)".  Does anyone know what he want do?  I have never figured it that one out.

And I bet none of you knew that Ozzy Osborne recorded "Born To Be Wild" with Miss Piggy!?!  Now you know you would love to hear that one!  LOL

Not much going on around here.  At least nothing to really write about.  I am behind in my journal reading.  I am thinking of turning the alerts off because I feel so bad having them sit in my inbox, so many of them........Do you use the alerts? bloglines? or some other way of keeping up with the journals you read?

I should do an entry where I actually say something huh?  I'll think about it.  In the meantime look at this cool tag:

Who's at my door?

Last night, well actually early this morning, someone ran my doorbell.  At 2:45 AM!  Scared the you-know-what out of me and my kitties!  I go and look out my little (and they really are little -- too little really) peephole.

I see a man.  Holding a pizza?  I was still asleep can't really remember. But I do know that it isn't anyone in my family, it's not a cop so I go back to bed.  I don't answer my door if I don't know who is on the other side -- and especailly not at 2:45 freaking AM!

The door bell rings a couple more times then he knocks on the door.  I still ain't answering!  Took forever for the kitties to calm down, my heart so slow down and forever to get back to sleep.  Still don't have a clue as to who it was at the door.

For the pleasure of you ladies (and you too Russ) here is something I got in the mail today:

Now where was I?  LOL

Finally, finally got my Aunt E's house up for sale!  Hired the real estate agent that sold me my house to handle it.  He is a very nice man and explained about asking more than you would actually take so you can come down on the price if you have to.  He agreed that the first block you drive through to get to the house is NOT a good selling point and wanted to know other ways to get to the house!  LOL

The block the house is in is ok, but that one block looks really bad.  Personally I wouldn't want to live on that street but I am sure hoping someone will want to!!

This little guy is here for no reason.  He is just kinda cute.  But a little nervous looking.  LOL

I have been in some really lousy moods lately and so has my mom.  And we can't seem to say or do the right thing for each other.  I hope one of us gets out of this moody-ness soon.

I go to the doctor Friday so maybe he will change my meds or something to help.  Lately I really don't want to socialize at all.  I would rather be watching tv or playing on the computer.

Guess that's it.  Hope no one gets offended by the cowboys above or by my siggy tag:

What is worse?

Which is worse?

The fact that AOL radio has a station named:
  Top 111  worse songs

Or

The fact that I am listening to it?

Kathy
