WOO HOO! In case anyone noticed I haven't been on line since last Monday. Why? We had a storm and it murdered my hard drive!!!!!!!!!! Oh but yes, when the storm left it took my hard drive and all that was in it away. I prayed that it could be fixed but it couldn't. Instead of buying a whole new computer system I had this place build be a hard drive (cost about half what I paid for my computer orginally). It was only supposed to take a couple of days but I didn't get it until today.
Then when I tried to get online I couldn't. My high speed internet modem also seemed to have gotten murdered by the storm also.
I do have some graphics on CD's but most was on the hard drive so now I will have to start over again.
I come back on line to find full mailboxes -- which probably means that I have been un-subed from some of my graphic groups. As soon as I can I will be sending to my graphics group again.
So, if you missed me I am back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .............Stormie
Wow Kathy~
Were you online live when the storm did all this damage? I can't imagine this happening if your computer was turned off. Also they are sure it was a storm and not also some virus as well? I lost AOL during the 3rd anniversary of the Iraq War, damage to the software and the AOL tech told me what to do when I reinstalled the software so I wouldn't lose my files. I lost all my favorites, and my mail files. Lots of info I needed is gone. If things go well, I will be humming with dsl and goodby to aol next month. This was the 3rd time their software broke and it was no storm.
You should back up all graphics on cd's. In fact, if you are serious, you can get a server just for graphics, LOL! Well, that is pro stuff. Backing up saves your hard drive anyway.
We are having storms here in California in the manner the Biblical Noah's flood days.
So glad to see you posting again if only I will see you for a little while longer.

so sorry about the storm murdering your hard drive. Now that sucks. Happy that your back on line.
That happened to me too last Spring -- and the power company (KCP&L) forked over bucks for a new computer. I had insurance against this kind of damage. Try raising a fuss with you power supplier and you might get a few bucks. Be a bitch! I'll help you be one if you don't know how. ;)
Hugs,
Russ
