Hello everyone. I have been meaning to make an entry,
but if it wasn't one thing it was another. Like yesterday.
I got a letter in the mail from animal control. They finally
got around to sending me the license for Sadie (I sent the
check to pay for it in LAST April) but now they wanted
proof that she had her rabies shots up to date. This really
put me in a mood because you know that I had to put Sadie
to sleep in January this year. Talk about timing!
So I have to go the vets to get an "offical" note that Sadie
is no longer with us. I could have just mailed in proof
that she had had her rabies shot but we were afraid that
I may get more mail about her later down the line so it
was easier to take care of it now.
Licensing of cats just started last year, it's been around
for dogs forever (or so it seems). If you have your pet
spayed or neutered it's a $5 fee, if they aren't then it's
$25 per animal. The county says this is to help cut down
on unwanted cats and dogs.
Here is bit of the green for St Patrick's day. I
am not into the whole "wearing of the green". And
green beer sounds really nasty to me!!!
Not much to share. My dad's MRI came back ok. No
tumors but the blood vessels behind his right eye are
"clogged". The blood thinner he is already taking should
clear it up but the doctor is sending him to an eye special-
ist at the hospital.
My aunt had her neck surgery yesterday and it seems
that all went well. She had 90% blockage in the artery
in her neck. So glad that has been taken care of.
Here's another little graphic that has some green in it.
It kinda goes with the background. I'm
not sure that this background is good for
journaling. Can you read this ok?
My dad and his friends have been working
on Aunt E's house so we can get it on the
market. They have almost finished painting the inside,
but we are going to have to hire someone to paint the
outside. I get a headache just thinking of how much that
is going to cost! I want to hurry to get the house up for
sale. Aunt E died last June and it has taken us a while
to get rid of her things and all. I guess we are doing
pretty good time wise for clearing up everything. It
still feels weird to go to that house. It is so strange to
think she is really dead. I don't know how to explain it.
That's all for now. Take care.

I'm so happy your father and aunt will be fine. That must be quite a relief.
I can't believe you have to have papers for cats. We don't. They barely bother us in NY for dog licenses, as long as your pet is an indoor pet or you have your pet on a leash. All they care about are the vet records really. It's only 10 dollars to get a dog license.
I understand about your aunt. It's hard to think of someone as dead. My mother died in 1996 and still, I forget sometimes and want to call her on the phone. It's just the way it is, I guess.

Kathy, I love your journal....How do you put a background in? Is it hard?
I have added you to my bloglines...I'll be commenting more often that way. LOL. Have a good rest of the weekend.

I hope your Dad gets his eyes taken care of soon.
All of my furry kids have their shots, but I refuse to pay the license fee. My taxes are high enough. Love the graphics.

I'm sorry that you got that painful reminder about Sadie. I think you were wise to take care of it so it doesn't keep coming about.
I do, however, admire the way Animal Control is trying to encourage folks to spay and neuter. And as a cat owner, I also agree with licensing for cats. I've never thought it was fair that dogs had to have a license when they were usually fenced in or on a leash, but cats run free and didn't have to be licensed. I think your town is on the right track with that. Now if only they'd get their butts in gear and do things in a timely manner. Sheesh.
