I need some technical help! And I know one of you will know the answer. At least I hope so!
I have known for a little while this was going on, but now it is really getting to me and I want it to stop.
I have folder in "my pictures" that I did not put there. It is called "pictures downloaded from aol" with a subfolder called "saved from mail".
When I first discovered this file there were thousands and thousands of graphics there. I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on.
It seems like every graphic/photo that hits my mailbox is saved into this folder. Every thing! Even from mail I don't open! Being in email groups you sometimes get mail that has "AC" (adult content) so I just delete them, never open them. Well in this litte folder that I can't delete (the folders, I can delete the graphics) there is porn! What if someone was looking through my graphics and happened upon this file? I would die.
I tend to forget the file is there from time to time and when I go there there will be thousands of graphics that I have to delete. Why is my computer doing this? Did I do something? How can I stop it? Don't say "delete the file" because it won't let me!
I am sick of cleaning it out and it really bugs me that it saves every graphic that hits my mailbox -- even if I don't open it!
Can someone please help me?

Click on Email >Email Settings >Advanced >Untick Keep All embedded images.
I also think you can delete this folder when AOL is not running.
Go to mail settings. There is a place where you can uncheck (or check) a box where it says whether to save your photos you get in the mail or not. I'll go look for where it is exactly.

that is weird..since just when I right click and save as then it will go to saved from mail...but not automatically.

I think you already have the help you need, but if not, just delete the damn folder entirely. It's called "The Andi Atom Bomb Approach"...works like a charm....LOL
