Meow

Today has been such a long day.  Well, it seemed like it was.  I got up early to take my dad to the doctor.  I noticed that my air conditioner was making a noise.  I called the people that installed it and they said they would be out this afternoon to look at it.  Luckily I called them early.  By the time I got home (about 12 noon) the thing had quit working.  My house was hot.  It seemed cooler out side!

Something had happened to the fan motor (or something like that) so it had to be replaced.  Again I got lucky as it was still under warrenty!!!  I only have to pay for 1/2 hour labor!!!!  I am so happy.

Andrea over at Unhinged has had her cat to die.  She is really broken up about it and I can't blame her.  Losing a pet is really hard.  She has posted some great pictures of Buddy and a cute story about him and a baby bottle.  Click on the graphic here to go to that entry.
Because of her background color you will have to highlight the page to be able to read it.  And it is worth it.

I had to take Sophie back to the vet to get her nails trimmed again!  They are growing so fast.  This is the 3rd time they have been trimmed since I got her.  The vet says that her nails will grow pretty fast while she is still a kitten.  She doesn't like having them trimmed either!  However she purred while she was trying to fight off the doctor.  She is such a cutie.

I told you that I had to take Sophie back to the animal shelter so they could put her ID chip in?  The vet couldn't locate the one they were supposed to put in before she left the shelter so I took her back to get one.  They managed to locate the 1st chip once, but not again, so it is someplace they would never find it again so she got a 2nd one.  I need to get Sadie one but they cost $25.  Sophie got one because it was paid for in the price of her adoption fee.

My dad hurt his knee somehow so he goes Monday for a MRI.  The doctor thinks he may have to have surgery on it.  That means he won't be driving for a while as it is his right knee.

My Aunt Betty is in the hospital.  She has been running a fever and they can't figure out why.  I went to see her Sunday.  I really hate expressway driving but she is worth it.

Mom got my Aunt E's life insurance payment today.  It isn't much but it will help replace the money my parents had to pay for her funeral.

The house next door to me is still empty.  Has been for over a year now.  I am beginning to wonder if it will ever sale.  Maybe if they come down on the price it would help.  I am mainly bugged about it being empty because the grass rarely gets mowed.  I am surprised the city hasn't made the owners (whoever they are) mow it.

Guess that is about it for now.  Take care.  Stay out of the sun!  I know the rest of you are probably having the same 90 to 100 degree weather we are having here in North Carolina.

Sorry your dad got hurt and happy about your air conditioner. Today, it was much nicer here. Less humid and barely need the air conditioning....nice breeze. Cleaned up the back yard for four hours. Today, was kind of an old movie summer day here.

I don't ever remember reading that you said you lived in N. Carolina before. Isn't that where Golden Child Gregg is from also? I seem to remember you both last year at the Anniversary Ball disappearing together. LOL!! I love that state. Sometimes I think of moving there when it gets too crazy here in California. Such a nice, newsy entry...so sorry to hear about your Dad and your Aunt Betty. Love your sig tag!

Hi Kathy. I always want to say, Hi kitten, because the graphics are always so cute they stay on my mind. The signature ones are adorable; like the one you used today.
Weather is hot here too, but can't complain. Till now it has been between 78-85. We're barely now hitting the 90 + temps. You take such good care of your cats. Johnny and I have always had birds and dogs but spoiled them rotten. We made sure they had proper vitamins, shots, and all that comes with taking good care of your pets. You really do. SO many people are so neglectful with theirs. I see cats in our area that belong to people but they don't take care of them properly. You've sure had your hands full; taking care of people and animals too. Hope your Aunt Betty feels better soon. Glad too, to know that your Aunt E's life insurance came. Every little bit helps.  Take care of yourself. I really DO love your signature graphic. Hugs, hon.

Ohmigod! I just LOVE the kitty sucking on a bottle graphic. Shoot, it put a lump in my dang throat. ::sniff::

Thanks for the link, Kathy. I'm sure Buddy Cat is learning the ropes from Ashley and Dallas now. (I love what you said in my comments section: "I miss the way Ashley loved me and the way Dallas ignored me.")

What a bad time to have the A/C go out.  But, you were lucky to get it all done in the same day.

Kiss your furbabies for me.  Theyare both such sweeties and just as cute as pie.
