where to begin?

It is hard to believe that it is already April.  Dad mowed my lawn for the first time this year this past week.

I have been meaning to make an entry with just little bits of the more boring parts of my life.  But then things have happened to take some of the boredom away.

So, in no real order here is the good and the bad stuff that has been going on in my life since last I wrote:

My cousin's 12 year old daughter died last week.  This cousin lives out of state and I haven't seen her since before she got married and started having kids.  I know the daughter was born with some kind of birth defect.  It is so sad.

Hospice coming in to see Aunt E has been a God send.  I feel so much better knowing that someone else is keeping an eye on her.

The last time I went to visit Aunt E she thought I was my mom (her sister).  At least she doesn't think I am Uncle George (that's what she calls my dad.  His name isn't George).

Took mom to the doctor today.  She hasn't really gotten her diabetes under control good so she will be seeing another doctor soon.

My car has electric windows.  They quit working today.  If it isn't one thing it is something else.

The other day I was driving down the street and saw Krispy Kreme's "hot now" sign lit.  You know I had to stop and get one.  If you have never had a hot Krispy Kreme you are really missing something.

Yesterday I discovered that my Aunt E's house had been broken into.  It had been a while since I had been to the house so I don't know exactly when it happened.  But they had cut the power off so we are going by that.

Nothing really worth anything is still in the house.  They took a Shop-vac, shoes, a end table, a phone and a dust buster.

I called the police, they took a report but didn't think much would come of it.  They couldn't lift any finger prints and without the serial numbers it would be hard to track down.

I got a call today from the police saying they are pretty sure they have the guy that broke in my aunt's house.  Seems several other houses were broken in around the same time in the block the house is in. Seems like he is into drugs and needed some money for his habit.  The guy they like for it did pawn a Shop-vac.  They wanted as much details as I could give them about the vac.  I made another trip to my aunt's house and found the papers that had come with the vac and with the dust buster!  I couldn't believe it.  I still don't have serial numbers but I have model numbers and they said  that would help.

The police are also asking if they get enough against this guy do I want to press charges.  It hardly seems worth it for what was taken, but at the same time he really shouldn't get away with it.  What if my aunt hadn't been in an assisted living place and was still living at home when it happened?

Took Sadie to get her nails trimmed.  Everyone at the vets always make over her when she comes in.  They tell her how pretty she is.  She loves the attention.

I am sure I had some more good things happen lately, but I have my thoughts on the break in right now.  Oh, the weather is beautiful.  Got up to almost 80 today.  LOVE IT.

I hope everyone has been doing well and that your weather has been as great as ours.  Take care of yourself.  Do something nice for yourself.

Kathy ~ Love your sig tag! You are holding up well considering all that is happening. So glad there are good caregivers you like for your Aunt E. to help lift some of the worry off. Of course press charges on the burglar, he deserves it. If he broke into your house you would feel so violated. I know that when you write about Sadie you are taking care of yourself, or are you? Are you getting a manicure? Your lawn mowed is one thing. Your weather beats out California. Only 75 degrees here today with rain on the way and it is cold at night. So glad you checked in at your journal. Praying for you and your family. God bless you and yours.

I've missed you, bebe'.  Glad to hear things are headed in the right direction with Hospice.  I love those people! As for the thief, you might be helping him more than you know by helping him to his bottom.  Otherwise, he's just going to keep on.  Big trouble has a way of turning people around sometimes.

Much Love & Big Hugs

Hi hon, So glad you have hospice. It's a real blessing. I think you're wise to press charges against the guy. It may be just the thing he needs to get his life back on track. Your graphic is adorable. Hugs. *Barb*

You will LOVE Hospice!  We had them for my dad and they were absolutely fantastic.  They are very special nurses and they really care.  The nurse who took care of my dad before we had to move him to the Hospice Center came to his wake and funeral.  It will definitely take alot of stress off of you.  My prayers are with you!  Glad nobody was at the house when it was broken in too!

Be safe....Trina

{{{{{ Kathy }}}}},

Sorry to hear about your cousin's daughter, the break in at your Aunt's house and your Mom's diabetes. I had the same issues with the break in I had in October that the police couldn't do much without serial numbers, but it sounds like the police are at least on a trail to the  guy....they had no trail for minei.

Oh my the Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I'm so glad that the nearest Krispy Kreme to me is far away enough that I don't get by there often.  Krispy Kreme is relativey new to TX  but I grew up on them having been born in Virginia. To me, nothing else compares to Krispy Kreme.   Some of the grocery stores and gas stations neary me sell them, but there's nothing like getting them hot from Krispy Kreme's own bakery.

Our weather is wonderful. Oh...and I took your advice about doing something nice for myself. When you get a chance, please stop by my journal.   :)

I'm so sorry about your cousin. So very sad. I say press charges on the creep. He needs to be held responsible for his stupid decisions in life. Who knows, maybe it'll be what he needs to finally get clean and never do something like this again.

:::slurp::: I love Krispy Kreme! :-) ---Robbie
