Short update

Just found out that my oldest niece has put her children up for adoption.  I am a little surprised but not totally shocked at the news.  DSS had taken her son away and then she got pregnant and had a little girl.  I don't know for sure but I am guessing that DSS stepped in again.  I knew my niece didn't have that "mothering instinct" but I didn't know she would really care less about her kids.  The children are probably a lot better off in a loving adoptive family.  I do hope that they can keep the 2 of them together though.

I am still working on my Aunt E's house.  I need to spend more time over there, but I am slowly getting things taken care of.  Hopefully before the end of summer I will be able to have a huge yard sale of her stuff.  I know that at some point in the future she will probably need some money (or worse case we will need some money to help bury her) so I think having a yard sale is a good thing.  I have been cleaning up all her appliances and I hope to sell them to this business that buys/sells used appliances.

I have to get my driver's license renewed in June so I am going to have my eyes checked out this friday.  I am restricted on my license, and I don't want any surprises when I take the eye test.  It is pretty standard for me to wait to go to the eye doctor just before getting my license renewed.  And usually there is some changes in my eyes.

Every time I get on the computer anymore Sadie has to get on the desk.  And of the whole desk that she could sit/lay on, she always choses the mouse pad!  What is it with her?  I have to keep pushing her tail out of the way or move the mouse off the pad to be able to use it.  If she wasn't so dog gone cute.......

Guess that's it for now.  Most of the stuff going on is same old stuff just different day.

Oh gosh.  I'm so sorry about your niece.  That has got to be heartbreaking.  Is there anyone in the family who can take the kids?  Good luck getting your license renewed.  I don't know how your local DMV is but the one near me you have to spend all day in line.  It totally sucks.

Big O.

Some people are not meant to be mothers. ithink the sale is a good idea. No reason to leave it for more people to steal.

OH my goodness that is so sad to me. Here I have been trying for years to have  ababy and we want one so bad. The others get one and throw them away. I wish someone would drop some babies on my door. I would take them as my own. We just cant afford the state fees. even special needs in the state is 12,000. I pray all the time instead of some girl throwing her baby away let them drop them on my door step no questions asked. I hope you get things iwht your aunt settled and her house. Do you have to take a eye test when you get your license. We dont here. I bet Sadie is such comfort.

What a horrible thing.  I can never understand a Mother not caring for her children, either neglecting them, abandoning them or giving them away. Still, maybe they will be better off. I hope, like you, that they can stay together.

That's a pretty horrible situation.

Hope the children are able to stay together. Sadie is such a "kick" as our son would say. Hugs. *Barb*

THATS REALLY TO BAD ABOUT HER LOSING HER CHILD AND THEN GIVING THEM UP FOR ADOPTION, HOWEVER SOME WOMAN ARE NOT MOTHERLY OR HAVE THAT INSTINCT TO BE GOOD MOTHERS.. THE KIDS ARE PROBALLY BETTER OFF. I DO HOPE THEY WILL REMAIN OR BE ADOPTED TOGETHER. ~BERLY

Too cute about Sadie.  My Darby likes to get up on the computer desk and lay her head on the keyboard.  LOL

Hi, Kathy,
Just poppin over to say hi.
Hope all goes well with your neice and her children situation.  I guess the best thing for the children needs to happen, whatever that is.

Good luck with the eye doc.  We all had ours checked in February, I think.  Hubby and I both had to get new eye glasses as well as sunglasses.

So sorry to hear about your neice... maybe she has some emotional problems or else lacks the support of a good spouse.  I had to give up a child once... but not for adoption.

Anyway, a friend told me that you know all about how to do backgrounds on journal entries.  Can you help?  I figured out how to put a background in, but it's all broken up if it doesn't not have text on it.  How do I solve this problem?  See my unsightly entry at:
