I have been sitting wondering just want to write
about. I know everyone gets tired of hearing all
the bad things that goes on in people's lives. Tired
of the complaints.
But ya know what? That is my life right now and
it is all I have to write about. You don't have to
read it if you don't want to. You won't be hurting
my feelings if you don't read it, heck I probably
won't know if you were even here or not.
Aunt E left the hosptial Monday and is back in the
same place she was before going into the hospital.
We are having a terrible time finding a place that
can take care of her needs and that accepts
Medicaid. It is starting to look like we will have to
place her in another town. Great. One either 30
minutes or so away or another about 1 hour away.
The one that is an hour away has a really good
reputation for taking good care of the people there.
Oh, one night while at the hosptial Aunt E decides to
wander around. The hospital called to see if we
could get a sitter to come watch her! It's a
hospital shouldn't they be able to keep an eye on
her or move her to a floor that has better staffing?
Dallas -- my cat -- has been sick. Come to find out
she had fleas really bad and they were making her
anemic. Strange. I never saw her scratching, Sadie
doesn't have fleas. I have never found one on me.
Some flea meds and a few days of pampering have
Dallas almost as good as before.
Sadie, well, Sadie is Sadie. She has good days and
bad days. I hate to think she will have life long
problems, but when she is feeling good there is no
way I could think of her not being around.
I went to the doctor back before Christmas.
He has been watching my blood pressure. I take
meds for it but it isn't under control so much
right now. Before changing my meds the doctor
wants me to lose some weight to see if that will
help. He wants me to lose 5 pounds before I
go back to him in February. Sounds so easy. Not
so. All I do is think of food. I am an emotional
eatter. When I get stressed watch out! And
I have been a little stressed lately.
Guess that is it for now.

Sorry things haven't been going well for you. I hope they get better soon.
Love,
Kat
PS The flowers look cheery.
Well you certianly have a happy background. But you need to come here and vent and that is what we friends are for. You let it all our here. I KNOW remember i been there twice. with both grannys an dstill going thru it with one. So you do what you need. Yeah sometimes the homes hospitals dont seem to do thier work. It s stupid I know. Well anyway I hate sadie is not totally well and Dallas poor thing that is awful. YOu take care of your self and have a good hot bath and relax before bed so you can rest. Lori
Kathy, I'm so sorry you have such a full plate. This is your journal and you write what you want for yourself. It's a good place to vent! I went through that with my mom, than my grandma, and my son. Seems the hospitals want to charge the price without providing the staff. Like charging for champagne when you're getting beer... I do hope Sadie and Dallas get better. Kathy, have you ever done any meditating or yoga. I know it lowers the blood pressure and is very relaxing...Hugs, gloria
You've had a lot to deal with for a long time now. It is hard, I know. But we never mind listening, hon. SOmetimes that's all we can do. Prayer is a given of course. I hope you're able to find a place for your aunt. I can only imagine how hard all of this must be for you. Your B/P is of some concern. I am an emotional eater too, and it's pretty hard when one is really stressed. Keeping you in prayer. Keep on writing whatever you need too. I know I did when Johnny had cancer. It was all I could think about. Hugs and love too. *Barb*
I don't think you have anything to apologize for! This is YOUR journal and even though it's online...it still should be some form of therapy for you or an avenue to vent! If others don't like it...there's always the delete key. I can't believe they wanted you to get a sitter for your aunt! Don't know why I'm surprised really...this was requested of my family for my dad a few months back. Don't think they appreciate the response they got! Hang in there...this too shall pass!
Hugs, Trina

Your floral background put me in a beautiful mood. I'm sorry to hear about your Aunt. I'm sure you'd like for her to be as close by as possible...but I know you want her well taken care of. I'm sure you'd rather drive twice as far to see her if you're satisfied with her surroundings and the staff when you get there.
One of my co-workers has an 83 year old mother in an assisted living place. She was here in TX for 2 years and now she's in a place in Colorado where my co-worker's brother lives. They got a call on Tuesday telling them their mother is being evicted from the facility. Apparently she's so hard to handle...her attitude is the problem, that they don't want her there anymore. My friend said that even when she was in good health her mother was a snob. And now with her dimentia she's really stirring things up...it's sad. I'll be praying for your Aunt and for you and your family as you research the best place for her.
Glad to hear the babies are doing better. Poor Sadie.

Hun...... you can go ahead and vent any old way you want........I will always listen. I am sorry to hear about placing your Aunt...But the one hour trip seems worth it if the reputation is top notch...nowadays that is so hard to find when it concerns taking care of the elderly. Yes the hospital should have someone watching your aunt.... that is not your responsibility...they just do not want to deal with it. I hope things start looking up for you.....Take Care of that Blood pressure.
