Merry Christmas

Preview

Christmas is coming.  And it will be here before you know it.  Really it will.  Let's see we have around 7 weeks to get our ducks in a row.  And I want you to help me to help others have the best Christmas possible.

How?  Christmas involves lots of things.  It should be the celebration of Jesus' Birth.  But when people think about Christmas it is mostly centered around presents.  The giving of presents really.

I want everyone to help me with lists.  Lists on how to make gift giving easier for people.  Sure there are some that can afford to go buy whatever they want to give and not even think about it.  There are those that aren't that lucky but are able to buy without too much stress.

Then there are those that really can't afford to spend any money but will try their best to come up with gifts for their kids and family.  This is the group my lists is aimed at.

I want us all to think of ways of earning extra money (don't say get a 2nd job, some already work 2 jobs) and the least expensive way of buying presents.  The most bang for your buck, where to find those bargins, etc...

I already have a short list in my mind but before I share it I want to see what you come up with.  Think you can come up with some really great ideas?  Let's hear them!

We decided this year not to exchange presents in our family as it gets in the road of what it is all about celebrating the Birth of our Saviour.

I am looking forward to seeing some ideas with this. Christmas at my household is so out of hand. I would like some tips also to keep the money aspect of it down. I have already started my shopping but still have lots to go.
Love,
Kat

There were times when times were lean and we gave something that came from ourselves...like one weekend of babysitting for sister, cleaning house once a week for a month for mom, washing the car once a week for dad and so on.  We still had an Xmas tree with hand made decorations...that was fun.  Now that my daughters are cosmotologists, they give free haircuts, perms, color - as gifts they also give free haircuts to the poor.  I also have an orphanage I support that was Kevin's baby and I have kept it up since he's been gone.  As for xtra money, there's babysitting, yard sales, holiday boutiques, doing things that people don't like to do for themselves.  Look forward to your list...gloria

You just HAD to go and remind me, huh?  LOL  Last year, I decided to resist the urge to feel guilty or pressured to feel like I just HAVE to spend tons of money for items that probably are put on a shelf or only worn a couple of times.  Its all about the grandbabies and since I live so far away from most of them...I'm sending either gift cards or money.  Makes it so much easier!  I would, however, like to see some ideas.

Hugs, Trina
