politics?

When John over at By the Way asks journalers to write about the current race for the President I got to thinking about what I could right about.  I don't know how I feel about ANY of the men running.  I have NO idea who I will be voting for yet.  But I do so LOVE yanking my dads chain about it.  It makes him sooo mad. hee hee

Sen John Edwards may have been born in SC, but he is just a good old boy from NC as far as we are concerned.  That is the reason I am writing about him.  Is he the man for the job?  Will I be voting for him?  Well....wouldn't you like to know?  I'm not saying.  You won't know who I vote for folks. Sorry.

My dad though is very outspoken on who he wants for president, and who he doesn't.  He wants Bush for 4 more years.  He HATES John Edwards.  I LOVE the fact that he hates Edwards.  When I can rub it in that Edwards COULD be president, he gets so upset. If he had to choose between Edwards or Kerry it would be Kerry.  But then I tell him, sorry, he will never make it.  I read something ages ago that the better looking man is the one that wins the election.  So, that lets Kerry out.  "Oh, but you don't vote for a man on his looks." "I didn't say I voted that way, it's just what I read."  "Hey, that means John Edwards will beat Bush hands down. Right?" "Edwards will NEVER be president."  "We will be in big trouble if he wins." I could go on for hours bugging dad about this.

I do find part of the reason people don't seem to like Edwards funny.  When he was running for Senate everyone was saying how terrific he was.  He's a lawyer that took on the big insurance companies and won tons of money for the little guy.  NOW that he is running for president, this is a BAD thing.  See, he took the big insurance companies to court and won tons of money, which means HE is the reason your insurance rates keep going up.  Is he the good guy because he got money for the little guy, or the bad guy because getting money for the little guy raises our insurance rates?  What got him elected once, is bad for him this time.  I find this funny.  Either it's good or it's bad.  You can't be on both sides of the fence.

I think just about anyone looks better than George Dubya. Somehow, he still got appointed as Pres. I say appointed, because he sure didn't win the popular vote. ~Melissa
