Rainy, chilly Friday

Yesterday wasn't the greatest.  But I got through it!  Andi had told me to do something and I thought I would try to get out of the house.  Well Andi I know this isn't what you had in mind but it is what happened.

My dad called me early and asked me to go to the funeral home with him.  No, no one has died.  My parents bought cementary plots years ago and paid for some of the stuff that goes along with it.  What they hadn't done was pick out a casket for mom.  (Dad want's to be cremated and had already taken care for an urn)  So yesterday I went to help pick out one and to make sure everything that could be pre-planned was taken care of.

If you have never had to pick out a casket........they have a room full of them.  It is so weird, especially to buy one for someone that hasn't passed yet.

So that was pretty depressing.  I needed a pick-me-up so as soon as we left the funeral home it was off to the bookstore!  I LOVE books.  I got 3 books.  They are:

the goodbye body  by Joan Hess
Miss Julia's School of Beauty  -- Ann B Ross
Madea's Uninhibited Commentaries on Love and Life  by Tyler Perry

If you have never heard of these authors shame on you!

this is funny, wait to see what the cat does!  LOL

I have a ton of links to add to my other journal.  Why does it take so long to get them added?  Well I have been trying to fix it so everytime you click on a link it opens into a new window (so you don't have to remember to right click or lose your place), but I am thinking I am going to quit doing that so I can get the links added before I lose them.  What do you think?  Get them there faster or wait until I have the time to key in html codes so each opens into a new window?

For now I will put some links here and depending on what you guys think will be how fast I get them added to the What to do Online journal.  For now please RIGHT CLICK on these links as they do not have the proper html code to open into a new window.

Animated tetra neon aquarium   animated fish tank you can download for your desktop

Fun jelly belly bean art

Animation Patch  free graphics

The Head  like the magic 8 ball but it is a head

Beat Your Boss   lets you beat up your boss!  Fun!!

That should keep you busy for a little while!  LOL

In case you missed it.......

I did an entry awhile back with links to places you can make your own graphics -- free of course.  I know I need to add them to my other journal and hopefully they will make it one day.  But for now here's a link for you to go back in time and have some fun:

Cool graphic making links I found

Oops, didn't give this entry a title!

Hello everyone.  For some reason I am in a lousy mood today.  I was going over some graphics I have used here in the past and decided to re-use some of them day.

Thought the cow would cheer me up but she hasn't.  But maybe she will cause one of you to smile/laugh.  She just wants a little love! LOL

Balanced my checkbook yesterday.  First go at it to!  Usually I have to hunt to find a mistake that I made along the way somewhere.  I was also suprised by how much I had in the bank.  You can that I haven't been up to shopping this past month!  And I am still not in the mood to shop.  Guess I must be sick.  I used to shop til I dropped.  Didn't matter if I needed something or not.  It's just a part of my illness I guess.

The kitties are doing great.  They are funny.  When dad comes over they run and hide.  When mom comes they just sort of hang around the edge the room then carefully walk up to her and then run away.  LOL

Dallas (siamese I used to have) would not have any thing to do with my dad (for 18 or so years) but then when Ashley (my gray kitty) died all of the sudden Dallas took up with Dad.  She would even let him pick her up.  It was really weird.

<P?>

Since I started this journal way back in September 2003 I have had to let go of 3 cats and 1 bunny.  It is so hard to believe (even though 2 were getting on up in years) that I had that many pets to die in such a short period of time.  I still miss each one of them and their own little quirks.

Ok, this is really getting depressing so I will shut up -- at least for now.  Take care.  It is going to be a warm sunny day here in North Carolina hope it will be there with you, where ever you are.

Couldn't decide which sig tag to use, so I will use 2 today! LOL

This is for......

Well, you know who you are......

Stormy weather

Big bad storm hit early this morning.  The wind woke me up and I just knew we where going to have a tornado or something.  Cats went into hiding.

When I opened my front door I found the chair on my front porch was in my neighbor's driveway and my recycle bins where on the opposit side of the house and pratically in the back yard.

Driving up the street I found that one of my neighbors had worse problems.  A tree was lying across their car and onto their house, another tree in the front yard was split like lighting must of struck it.  A power line was part of the way down.

My parents have some huge limbs down in their yard.  I'm lucky my trees are all in one piece.

This guy here <---- is here for no reason whatsoever.  I just found him and thought he was cute.  So I decided to post him.  Or her.  Whatever it is.

We are supposed to have more storms later today or tonight.  Hope if we do they aren't as bad as what we got this morning.

Ta Ta for now.

Tom Cruise is a freak!

I have read several sites and this appears to be something Mr Cruise said in GQ Magazine recently:

Tom 'to eat afterbirth'

The man has lost his mind!

The sun is finally showing itself today!

I am having to write this entry with just one hand.  Why?  Because my spoiled rotten Sophie is laying across my right arm!  I can see that this may take awhile!!!!!!

I went to the doctor yesterday.  We were talking and I ended up mentioning my journal.  He wanted to know the name of it and what I wrote about.  Gesh.  Wonder if he is going to try to find it?

I went with my dad today to pick out a suit.  One of my cousins died unexpectedly Monday.  I have like a million cousins on my dad's side (he was the youngest of 13 children).  I am not close to any of them really.  I haven't even seen D since I was a teenager.  He painted the car I was driving at the time.  Seems like everyone is dying lately.

I have like a zillion links to add to my "what to do journal".  Here are a few that I hope to post over there sometime today or tomorrow:

games:

Tennis --  can you keep the tennis ball in the air

Tic Tac Toe 1  you against the computer

Tic Tac Toe 2

Mini Golf

misc:

Latest Deaths in MySpace.com  -- deaths (and cause) of people that have (had) a place at MySpace.com

friendship puzzle

religious:

Pine Tree Crosses

May You Be Blessed Movie

quiz:

Which religion is the right one for you? (new version)

And this is a link that I just stole from from Deb.  It is so funny you have to go there!  Yes, you MUST!!!  LOL

     Funny Cats

That's all for now.  Ihave a ton of emails to get to.

Another death

I want to make a proper entry, but I don't want to take away from something important like this.

Lori aka bernmilo lost her younger brother unexpectedly this past friday.  He was just 36 years old.

She could use some prayers and some hugs:

My Brother Dies

(if link not working here it is written out:

Highlighting another Journal

Today I found a journal that I would love for you to check out.  It is still fairly new and I think she could use some motivation to keep it up (well, she said in an email that she could use some motivation).

Here's a link, check it out and leave a comment if you wish:

Through the Eyes of Love

Sharing

When someone dies I feel so helpless.  I don't know what to say or do.  Mostly I feel like I should do something.

Right or wrong I have done something this time.  I have created another journal with just sympathy graphics.  I did this so if anyone wants to email Pamela's sisters (the email addys I have for them are over there too.)you can grab one to put in your email.  Of course you don't have to email them and you don't have to use the graphics.  It is just my way of doing something.  Pretty small something, but something nonetheless.

Pamela Hilger 4/10/56 - 4/16/06

As most of you know by now Pam -- His1desire --passed away yesterday from cancer.  She had just turned 50 years old on April 10th.  She will be deeply missed.

I "met" Pamela when I started journaling almost 3 years ago.  She was a great help to me teaching me -- very patiently I might add -- how to add pictures, links, ect... into my journal.  She was also a great sounding board when I opened my help journal.

Here are some links for you to check out if you so desire.  (Please remember to right click on your mouse so you won't loose this page if you are planning on coming back here.)

The Stupidsheet Guy  -- helping to raise money for Pamela's children

She Said WHAT?  --  has opened a chat room for anyone that needs to talk

Life on Life's Terms  -- one of Pam's sister's has started an AOL journal

Sad News: Pamela's Passing --  Joe gives us links and tells how to "tag" our entries on Pam to make for easier finding

Just One Girls Head Noise UK  -- Pamela's journal  (has comments and updates from her sister in the comments

today  -- Pamela's first entry after finding out she had lung cancer

::crying::

I am sitting here in shock.  I can't believe that Pam has passed.

I never met her but she was so nice to me her online.  When I first started journaling she was there with a helping hand.

For those that don't know Pamela was diagosed with lung cancer last June.  She leaves behind 2 wonderful children (both teenagers).

I can't believe that the passing of someone I never met would hit me the way this has.  I can't do anything for her family.

Pam wanted to make sure someone would take on some of her beloved journals and I don't think anyone stepped up.  I hate that.  I would myself but I just didn't think I would keep them up the way they needed to be.  I hope her family leaves them all up even if they are outdated.  (I am talking about her help journal, screen shots of editor's picks, and the listing of everyone's journals).

She's Gone

This was posted in the yahoo group at 6:28pm today;

My sister Pam passed away today.

I don't have other information, as to exactly when, or anything else,
her ex husband called my sister Susie about an hour ago to let her know.

She is at peace now, she's not in pain, she doesnt hurt. We who loved
her are the ones who are suffering now, and i know that my life is
better for having had her in it, so the pain even can be appreciated,
That I hurt because she was my sister, and I got to love her, and be
loved by her.

She told me a couple years ago, that all she wanted out of life, was
to touch one person, and make a difference in someone's life. Then she
would know that she was a success. The last time that she and I had a
long conversation was about 2 weeks ago. And she KNEW that she was a
sucess. That she has touched so many people, made a difference in so
many people's lives. She knew the end was very near, and she was
scared, but she knew that she had accomplished what she had set out
for herself as her life's goal. How many of us can say that?

Hug your sisters, your friends, your loved ones. Tell them what they
mean to you, and how they've touched your life. Let them know while
you can. Life is so short.

Thank you all for your words, and prayers. Knowing that there are
people all around the world who are grieving for her as we are is a
great comfort to us.

Thank you all

Nancy, Betty & Keith

Update on Pam

This is the latest update I have found on Pamela.  It was posted at the yahoo group her sister set up for us.  It was posted at 11:52pm last night.

We hadn't heard from Pam since the 9th... mom doesn't like to call
her, in case she's sleeping, usually she waits for Pam to call every day.

We called her this morning, and got no answer on her cell phone, so we
called her house phone later in the afternoon.. Pam answered, but she
just said that she didn't feel good at all and didn't want to talk..
so lots of prayers are needed right now... I went through Pam's
Journal and put all her pictures on CD, at least from the diagnosis
on, so that mom could see them... it was pretty emotional.

I'm pretty worried right now.. but then it's out of our hands, right?
so why worry... I just gotta keep remembering that whatever happens in
life it may look like chaos and confusion, but someone has a master
plan. It's just not mine.

Sorry it's not better news.

Nancy

Good Friday

A quick background for those of you that either don't remember or wasn't reading my journal at the time.  In November of 2004 (?) my Aunt E had a stroke that brought on deminta and I was her power of attorney so it was up to me to get her to the hospital and later to an assisted living place.  My Aunt passed away June 15 2005.  All her bills were paid and we (my parents and I) got busy empting her house to prepare to sell it.  (now we are just waiting for the painter to paint the outside of the house).

Why am I reminding you of all this?  I got a bill in the mail today.  From someplace I never heard of (out of state even) for over $200.  They claim to have come to a nursing home and took x-rays of my aunt's hands and that her insurance hasn't paid.  They claim the x-rays were made in Jan 2005!

What the?  Waiting a year to bill me?  No one ever told me my aunt's hands needed to be or ever were x-rayed.  As far as I know she never had any problems with her hands.

She has been dead for almost a year and now they want money?  I just don't think something is quite right with this bill.  What to do?  I don't have the money right now to pay it anyway, but I wonder if it isn't a fraud of some kind.

Oh!  Funny thing happened the other night.  I was lying on the couch watching tv and it was almost dark out so I thought I should get up and close the curtains.  The cats were looking at something out the window also.  So I look out and see EYES staring back at me!!!!!  Totally freaked me out.  Then my brain starting working on what my eyes were seeing.  It was my neighbors cat looking in on me!  LOL

Hope everyone is having a great Easter weekend.

Thursday the 13th

I love daisies!  And those above look so spring/summer like, so fresh and clean.

I took Maggie to the vet today to get her nails trimmed.  She hadn't been in so long that I wasn't sure how she would react.  She HATES the harness I put on her.  I am really trying NOT to have to put my kitties in a carrier.  I did that for years with Ashley and Dallas and they hated it.  They would run hide every time I brought it out.  Sadie didn't mind the harness, but my 2 little ones now hate it.

Anywho Maggie didn't mind the car ride too bad.  And she didn't get in my way (which Sophie does from time to time).  At the vet's I was so proud of her.  She just laid on the table while Dr H trimmed her nails. She didn't try to get away, hiss, or even try to bite!  Sophie is a handful when she gets her nails trimmed.

Today has been beautiful.  I sat on my parents screened in back porch and finished reading Stephen King's book "Cell" (great book, but I HATE the way he chose to end it).  Then after lunch dad came to my house and we picked up some sticks and branches that had fallen after a few storms.  I didn't realise how many I had in the back yard.  I also stumbled across a beer bottle that had gotten into my back yard somehow.  Had to have come from the strange neighbor next door.

I lost a lot of graphics when my hard drive died but I managed to rummange through some deleted mail at my gmail account and was able to re-save more than I ever thought I could.  Gmail holds a ton of mail and whatever you delete stays for 30 days before it is truely gone!  WOO HOO!

Still getting used to my new hard drive.  Most everything works like the old one but some things are different.  And I am also having to re-set my AOL mail settings.  Who knew all that would be lost too?  And the graphic I used as my siggy was gone.  Strange how settings and siggy was gone but all my saved mail and mail waiting to be sent was still there.

Tomorrow is Good Friday.  Yeah for a 3 day weekend.  When I was younger I would go to the Easter Sunrise Service at OS, they would have a marching band to go from the square in front of the church out to the graveyard.  (it is a very old graveyard and a really pretty one too)  I haven't gone in years, but I tell you if you ever get a chance to go to a sunrise service you should go, not only is it moving spritually, but seeing the sunrise is amazing in a quite atmosphere.

Guess I've rambled on long enough.

I'm Baaacccccckkkkkkkk

WOO HOO!  In case anyone noticed I haven't been on line since last Monday.  Why?  We had a storm and it murdered my hard drive!!!!!!!!!!  Oh but yes, when the storm left it took my hard drive and all that was in it away.  I prayed that it could be fixed but it couldn't.  Instead of buying a whole new computer system I had this place build be a hard drive (cost about half what I paid for my computer orginally).  It was only supposed to take a couple of days but I didn't get it until today.

Then when I tried to get online I couldn't.  My high speed internet modem also seemed to have gotten murdered by the storm also.

I do have some graphics on CD's but most was on the hard drive so now I will have to start over again.

I come back on line to find full mailboxes -- which probably means that I have been un-subed from some of my graphic groups.  As soon as I can I will be sending to my graphics group again.

So, if you missed me I am back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kathy
