Flopsy Choco-paws here.

Don't really have anything much to say.  A "what is your
name" thing was going around a group that I am in and I
thought I would share it with you.  Russ this is cuter than
the one you had that called me Tootsie!  Hee Hee
My Easter Bunny name is:  Flopsy Choco-paws  Go, find out
your bunny name -- Easter Bunny Name
  -- then come tell
me what it is.  I know it is just too cutesy but give it a
try anyway!  I like bunnies, used to have one named Lucky.

     Had to share this:

Tomorrow is the parents 50th wedding anniversary.  Haven't
gotten them a gift or anything yet.  The lottery started
today.  They are just starting out with the scratch off
tickets but by May (I think) we will have the big super ball
or whatever it is.  Do any of you play the lottery?

Guess thats it.  Gotta do some laundry.

Last Monday in March 2006

I was going to make an entry yesterday but for various reasons didn't.  Today is a better day anyways.

This Thursday will be North Carolina's offical first day of having the lottery!  WOO HOO Another way for people to throw their hard earned money away.  We will start off with those scratch off things and sometime they will add in that super ball thingy.  Guess the government got tired of people driving across the state line to Virgina to play!  LOL

Then this Friday is also going to be a big day. (Although there is no party planned)  It will be my parent's 50th wedding aniversary!  Can you imagne 50 years?  That means my brother is 49 years old and I am........well......I am his younger sister.  Much younger sister!  LOL

Today I took Sophie to the vet.  She was NOT a happy camper!  She needed her nails trimmed and I wanted to check her weight to make sure she wasn't gaining too much to fast or anything.  She came in at a whopping 9 pounds!  Although I think most of it is hair!  LOL  I also had Dr B shave her a little "poop chute".  If you have never had a long hair cat you probably won't get that.

Not a whole lot going on around here.  I am flustrated that I can't do more to help out a friend in need.  I do what I can but I don't feel it is enough.  Hopefully she will understand.

I have more links for my What To Do Online journal.  I haven't added them over there yet but I will go ahead and post them here before I lose the links!  I haven't taken the time to code them to open into a new window so when you check them out be sure to right click so you won't lose this page.  Let me know if you like them.  If you have any links you want me to put in the journal just send them to me.

this one won't make it to the other journal.  just something I thought I would share with you.  If you shop at Dollar stores you may want to read this:

Guess this entry is long enough.  Take care.

Wasn't gonna make an entry today

but there is news in J-land that needs passing along.

First the good news!  Krissy's (aka fisherkristina) husband is finally being release from the hosptial and they are going to soon be headed home.  For those of you that don't know her husband recently received a bone marrow transplant.  One of her journals is private, but here is the public one if you want to go congratulate or send well wishes:  Sometimes I Think

Now on to the bad news.

marainey1 just found out that her mother has advanced pancreatic cancer with only about 2 months to live.  You can visit her here:  Good Morning Sunshine

And lastly Jackie's (over at Waiting to Exhale) boyfriend was recently killed in an automotive accident.  The heartbreaking news is that his ex-wife died only a week or so before and now his children (ages 15 and 12) have lost both of their parents.  Jackie is broken up but is asking us to remember her boyfriend's children in our prayers.

Thursday the 23rd day of March

First things first.  Every needs to drop over at John's place and
congratulate him!  He has been nominated for 2 Sci Fi writers
awards.  He is up for the Hugo and the Campbell Goodness awards.
I don't know much about these awards but I know they are a
big thing for authors of science fiction books.

Next, Jimmy has a couple of questions he wants answers to.  If
you think you can be totally honest check out this entry of his.

The weather here is a little chilly.  Seems as if this spot of NC has skipped over winter.  That is ok by me.  I am ready
for some warmer weather.  Some daisy weather!  LOL
I LOVE daisies!!  They are my favorite flower.  Yep I
would rather have a daisy than a rose.  An ex-boyfriend
liked that.  He could go pick daises and not have to
spend money on roses!  Yeah, he was kinda cheap.

I feel like such a hypocrite sometimes.  I go around J-land
telling folks that life is good and they should cheer up
life isn't so bad and it will get better.  Look on the
bright side of things.  All the while I am sitting here
having my own pitty party.  Though  a part of me
knows that things has to get better and that life isn't
as bad as I think it is..........I still only see how crappy things are.

I sit here and cry over pets that have died.  I miss the
way they would sleep with me and my present kitties
don't.  I love Sophie and Maggie so why do I dwell on
the others?  Do other people get as attached to animals
as I do?

Other people in J-land are having problems with
their partners, worry about their parents health,
and Pamela with cancer and I sit her and cry over
how dirty my house is and that I am so overwhelmed
that I don't know where to start cleaning.  Before I
got depressed I always had a clean house, clean dishes, clean
clothes.  Heck I even cooked.  Now I don't do, or rarely do
these things.  I want my old life back.  I want to be "normal".

Don't forget to go over to John's can congratulate him.  And check
out Jimmy's question.  Leave some hugs for Pamela.

St Patrick's Day 2006

Hello everyone.  I have been meaning to make an entry,
but if it wasn't one thing it was another.  Like yesterday.
I got a letter in the mail from animal control.  They finally
got around to sending me the license for Sadie (I sent the
check to pay for it in LAST April) but now they wanted
proof that she had her rabies shots up to date.  This really
put me in a mood because you know that I had to put Sadie
to sleep in January this year.  Talk about timing!

So I have to go the vets to get an "offical" note that Sadie
is no longer with us.  I could have just mailed in proof
that she had had her rabies shot but we were afraid that
I may get more mail about her later down the line so it
was easier to take care of it now.

Licensing of cats just started last year, it's been around
for dogs forever (or so it seems).  If you have your pet
      spayed or neutered it's a $5 fee, if they aren't then it's
$25 per animal.  The county says this is to help cut down
      on unwanted cats and dogs.

Here is bit of the green for St Patrick's day.  I
am not into the whole "wearing of the green".  And
green beer sounds really nasty to me!!!

Not much to share.  My dad's MRI came back ok.  No
tumors but the blood vessels behind his right eye are
"clogged".  The blood thinner he is already taking should
clear it up but the doctor is sending him to an eye special-
        ist at the hospital.

My aunt had her neck surgery yesterday and it seems
that all went well.  She had 90% blockage in the artery
in her neck.  So glad that has been taken care of.

Here's another little graphic that has some green in it.
It kinda goes with the background.  I'm
not sure that this background is good for
journaling.  Can you read this ok?

My dad and his friends have been working
on Aunt E's house so we can get it on the
market.  They have almost finished painting the inside,
but we are going to have to hire someone to paint the
outside.  I get a headache just thinking of how much that
is going to cost!  I want to hurry to get the house up for
sale.  Aunt E died last June and it has taken us a while
to get rid of her things and all.   I guess we are doing
pretty good time wise for clearing up everything.  It
still feels weird to go to that house.  It is so strange to
think she is really dead.  I don't know how to explain it.

That's all for now.  Take care.

Just little old me

Because Andi threatened me I thought I had better do an entry.  I am doing some better these days.  I actually got out of the house and went (with my dad) to Kmart today.  Sort trip but I did ok.  I picked up some magazines for tomorrow.

What's tomorrow?  I will be taking my dad to have some tests run (one of which is an MRI).  He went last week to get his eyes checked and the doc found some swelling behind one of his eyes.  She sent him to a neurogolist (sp?) who said it could be a blockage or a tumor.  The doctor said a blockage wouldn't be much of a problem, but a tumor......

So while I am sitting waiting on dad to get his MRI I will pass time with the magazines.  I would rather be reading a book but my concentration lately is the pits.  Oh, and I will be loaded up on anxeity meds too!  Gonna be a fun day!  LOL

My babies (cats for the uninformed) are doing great.  They are eating me out of house and home!  They would eat all day long if I would let them!  I need to take them to get their nails trimmed but it will have to wait a little longer.  Maggie is really getting prettier the older she gets.  I need to take some pictures.  I have tried to get some of Sophie and Maggie together but everytime I get the camera they take off running.

Guess that's it.  Take care everyone.  Let the people around you know how much you love them.

Oh, Stuart recently got a new puppy  -- Milly  -- go congratulate him and see the deal he worked out with his wife about Milly and furniture!  LOL

Blog Six-Pack Picks

Editor Joe has come up with a new idea.  He wants everyone to list 6 journals in an entry and give him the link.  Here is part of his entry:

1. Pick 6 blogs. Why 6? For starters, it's one better than five, which means a Top 6 is 20% better than a Top 5. Also, six rhymes with picks.

2. We're playing fast and loose here, so none of the requests I usually make of the Guest Editors apply -- your six can be all AOL Journals, none, or anything in between. They can be bloggers we're sick of seeing; they can be all your friends or family members. If you're an egomaniac, they can be 6 of your own blogs (if you have six, that is). You can make up a theme of your own, or you can just go themeless. Just no porn, no spam and only one link per blog (so no lameness like 6 different entries from the same blog).

3. Do a blog entry listing and linking to your six picks. Descriptions or commentary would be great, but do what you want.

Ok so I am in.  I decided to pick 6 UK journals.  Here's my list:

1  Stuart --Speciman Days --> http://journals.aol.co.uk/sdrogerson/SpecimenDays

2  Jules  -- It's my life  --http://journals.aol.co.uk/jules19642001/Itsmylife/

3  Jeannette  -- Jeannette's Jottings -->  http://journals.aol.co.uk/jeanno43/JeannettesJottings/

4  Debbie  --  The Life & Times of an Essex Girl  -->
http://journals.aol.co.uk/debbiewebb4465/TheLifeTimesofanEssexGirl/

5  Sarah  --  cynicalchick  -->
http://journals.aol.co.uk/sarah2412/cynicalchick/

6  Joan  --  Stranny Dayze  -->
http://journals.aol.co.uk/aniracj/StrannyDayze/

Don't forget to drop over to Joe's to learn more about his Six pack blog thing!

Update on Pamela aka his1desire

I think most of you know of Pamela and that she has lung cancer.

She has not been journaling lately but her sister has a yahoo group where she updates us on Pam.  This is what the last update said:

Date: Mar 6, 2006 3:33 PM
Subject: Update on Pam March 6th
To: updateonpam@yahoogroups.com

Hi everyone...

I just got back from picking up Mom in California. Nick came home from
Hawaii, and Pam's angel of a neighbor came home from her vacation, Mom
knew that Pam would not be alone, and she needed to come home. This
has been very hard on everyone, and I think Mom was close to, if not
*in* a major mental meltdown.

So, on Feb 26th, my sister Linda picked Mom up from Pam's house, and
took her to the town where she lives, and where I picked her up from
yesterday.

On Saturday, Pam's neighbor was over at Pam's, and Pam began to have a
seizure. The neighbor called 911, and Pam was taken to the hospital.
They did a brain scan of some type, and they found two brain tumors
that were not there during her last scan. One of the tumors is either
small enough, or in such a position that they feel that radiation is
the best approach. The other tumor is much larger, and, as I
understand it, is what has been affecting Pam's ability to communicate
- It wasn't just Chemo Brain as we had thought. Pam knows what she
wants to say, but she can't find the right words in her head, and she
is very very frustrated.   They have decided that they need to perform
brain surgery ASAP. She was originally scheduled to go in today, but
they have postponed it until tomorrow.

When Pam was in the ER, they found that she was severely dehydrated,
and down to 82lbs. She has been gaining weight every day since she's
been in the hospital, and I'm glad they're waiting another day for the
surgery, so she can be as strong as possible.

I spoke with Pam on the phone yesterday, and she's doing the best that
she can to keep her spirits up - she says that they tell her that
there is a very high chance of success for the surgery. I pray to God
that they're right... I know she's scared out of her mind, and we are
as well.

I will post as soon as I know anything else. As soon as I can.

Nancy

http://journals.aol.co.uk/his1desire/JustOneGirlsHeadNoiseUK/

Everyone please pray for Pam and her family at this most difficult time.

Thanks,

Kathy

Just saying Hello

I really don't have much to say.  I am doing ok.  Depression
has lifted a little.  I am now having severe anexity and panic
attacks.  I have had them before but not so many so often.
I can't do anything.  By that I mean going places.  I wanted
to go visit my Aunt Betty before her next surgery and I just
can't do it.  I can't go shopping or anything.  Well, I take that
back, I can go through drive thru's to pick up some food.

I have a couple of links for you.  You will love them both.  The
first is "The Fruitcake Lady"  People ask her for her advice
and her answers are just hysterical.  It may take a sec to
   load:  https://home.comcast.net/~jfmelnick/fruitcakelady.wmv

The next link I swiped from toonguykc  It's:
     http://www.iusedtobelieve.com/  Toonguykc has some of
the postings in his latest entry.  Funny stuff.

The other night I was really depressed so I joined more
email groups.  Yep, I can't even tell you how many -- I
lost count.  Anyway 2 of the are alphabet groups that is
where I got the letters for the hello above.  Got tons of
alphas now and have no real way to use them since I don't
     PSP.  LOL

     Take care everyone.

Did You Know?

Did you know that you can order custom printed M&M candies?  You can have a greeting or a name put on them!    Pretty cool.  (Make sure you spell my name right!  LOL)

I just read about it in a magazine.

Go here:  mymms.com  and the code in the magazine (if you need a code) is MYMM27
