Short update

Just found out that my oldest niece has put her children up for adoption.  I am a little surprised but not totally shocked at the news.  DSS had taken her son away and then she got pregnant and had a little girl.  I don't know for sure but I am guessing that DSS stepped in again.  I knew my niece didn't have that "mothering instinct" but I didn't know she would really care less about her kids.  The children are probably a lot better off in a loving adoptive family.  I do hope that they can keep the 2 of them together though.

I am still working on my Aunt E's house.  I need to spend more time over there, but I am slowly getting things taken care of.  Hopefully before the end of summer I will be able to have a huge yard sale of her stuff.  I know that at some point in the future she will probably need some money (or worse case we will need some money to help bury her) so I think having a yard sale is a good thing.  I have been cleaning up all her appliances and I hope to sell them to this business that buys/sells used appliances.

I have to get my driver's license renewed in June so I am going to have my eyes checked out this friday.  I am restricted on my license, and I don't want any surprises when I take the eye test.  It is pretty standard for me to wait to go to the eye doctor just before getting my license renewed.  And usually there is some changes in my eyes.

Every time I get on the computer anymore Sadie has to get on the desk.  And of the whole desk that she could sit/lay on, she always choses the mouse pad!  What is it with her?  I have to keep pushing her tail out of the way or move the mouse off the pad to be able to use it.  If she wasn't so dog gone cute.......

Guess that's it for now.  Most of the stuff going on is same old stuff just different day.

Tuesday the 12th

Hello everyone.  Hope everyone is doing ok.  I have written so many entries lately that were depressing or complaining, so I have decided to do an entry that isn't any of those things.  I don't want you to quit visiting because of depressing entries.  So today I am looking for good things to write about.

I was at my Aunt's house yesterday trying to get things packed up and figuring out how to sell some of the stuff.  Went out to my car and there is a beautiful dogwood tree right there at the driveway.  I looked up and saw this little birds nest.  It was so cute.  It made me happy.  Why?  Don't know.  I just get excited at things like that.

Today I called Aunt Betty to make sure she would be home and went for a visit.  She lives 45 min to an hour away.  Aunt Betty always finds a way to make me smile.  Wish she lived closer.  While there I had to shop at a store that we don't have here.  Found a DVD of an old black and white monster movie.  I love those old ones.  They are so funny because the special effects back then weren't the greatest.  Can't wait to watch it.

My little Sadie is doing great.  She has started getting a big appetite.  She is still tiny and I think she always will be no more than 5 pounds or so, but I love it to see her eating.  Dallas is doing ok to.  She has really surprised me.  For a cat that is almost blind she climbs up the cat tree I have.  She gets to one of the top perch's and then can't find her way back down.  She gives a huge meow and I'll go and get her down.

No reason for this graphic.  "cept that I think it is cute and decided to put it here.  LOL

Mom got some kind of refund in the mail for $26 and she signed the check over to me!  WOO HOO  Got some spending money now!

Sunday was a beautiful day.  Mom and I sat on her back porch and read most of the day.  It was really nice and relaxing.  I got to finish a book that I had started a month or so ago.  Lousy book, but I had to finish it.  I hate starting a book and not finishing it.

Guess that's it for now.  Take care everyone.

where to begin?

It is hard to believe that it is already April.  Dad mowed my lawn for the first time this year this past week.

I have been meaning to make an entry with just little bits of the more boring parts of my life.  But then things have happened to take some of the boredom away.

So, in no real order here is the good and the bad stuff that has been going on in my life since last I wrote:

My cousin's 12 year old daughter died last week.  This cousin lives out of state and I haven't seen her since before she got married and started having kids.  I know the daughter was born with some kind of birth defect.  It is so sad.

Hospice coming in to see Aunt E has been a God send.  I feel so much better knowing that someone else is keeping an eye on her.

The last time I went to visit Aunt E she thought I was my mom (her sister).  At least she doesn't think I am Uncle George (that's what she calls my dad.  His name isn't George).

Took mom to the doctor today.  She hasn't really gotten her diabetes under control good so she will be seeing another doctor soon.

My car has electric windows.  They quit working today.  If it isn't one thing it is something else.

The other day I was driving down the street and saw Krispy Kreme's "hot now" sign lit.  You know I had to stop and get one.  If you have never had a hot Krispy Kreme you are really missing something.

Yesterday I discovered that my Aunt E's house had been broken into.  It had been a while since I had been to the house so I don't know exactly when it happened.  But they had cut the power off so we are going by that.

Nothing really worth anything is still in the house.  They took a Shop-vac, shoes, a end table, a phone and a dust buster.

I called the police, they took a report but didn't think much would come of it.  They couldn't lift any finger prints and without the serial numbers it would be hard to track down.

I got a call today from the police saying they are pretty sure they have the guy that broke in my aunt's house.  Seems several other houses were broken in around the same time in the block the house is in. Seems like he is into drugs and needed some money for his habit.  The guy they like for it did pawn a Shop-vac.  They wanted as much details as I could give them about the vac.  I made another trip to my aunt's house and found the papers that had come with the vac and with the dust buster!  I couldn't believe it.  I still don't have serial numbers but I have model numbers and they said  that would help.

The police are also asking if they get enough against this guy do I want to press charges.  It hardly seems worth it for what was taken, but at the same time he really shouldn't get away with it.  What if my aunt hadn't been in an assisted living place and was still living at home when it happened?

Took Sadie to get her nails trimmed.  Everyone at the vets always make over her when she comes in.  They tell her how pretty she is.  She loves the attention.

I am sure I had some more good things happen lately, but I have my thoughts on the break in right now.  Oh, the weather is beautiful.  Got up to almost 80 today.  LOVE IT.

I hope everyone has been doing well and that your weather has been as great as ours.  Take care of yourself.  Do something nice for yourself.
